French Flourless Chocolate Cake

Oct 12, 2008 15:15

Made this yesterday for a catch up with friends. While I didn't have any personally (doesn't fit into my training diet. Boo!), I was told by everyone quite a few times that it was really good eating.

Best served with coffee, and makes around 12 slices.

Ingredients200g semi-sweet cooking chocolate, chopped ( Read more... )

No, I didn't. I was very well behaved, I must admit. It's all part of Mission: Seventy Kilos and I can't deviate from the plan if I want to be in a bikini on stage in front of thousands of people this time next year (I'm a bodybuilding work in progress). C'est la vie, I suppose. THERE WILL BE OTHER CAKES!

i've been reading a lot about proteins etc. i love it when i read about some body builder who is obviously depriving themselves of treats like cake and they're like 'i mixed my chocolate protein shake with half the amount of water and added a tiny bit of peanut butter - it was like a snickers pudding! what a delicious dessert!'

Ken made me the best protein shake yesterday. It had our standard protein mix in it (WPI, WPC, SPI and Casein), skim milk, ice, banana and MANGO! I think it was like 300 calories and oh my god, it was like two massive glasses of slightly softened tropical ice cream! Hahahaaaa!! ^_^ I live for stuff like that, no kidding. Makes all the hard stuff worth it.

How can this not be part of your training regime? It looks Healthy enough... ;)

FYI N and I are both SMASHED from the gym. I nearly hurt myself trying to get something from the top cupboard earlier.

No pain No gain I guess....

Hahahaaa!! Love it. ^_^ It's great that you guys are getting into it. I like reading about N's work outs. It's nice to have other people as ramped up about stuff as I am. :)

I always experience DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) the afternoon after a heavy training day. It will hurt to put clothes on, hurt to sit down, hurt to stand up, hurt to laugh, hurt to eat, etc, etc. I spend the entire day saying "OW!" and thinking "God, I had no idea that simple action (brushing teeth for instance) could hurt so much!". I guess it's a good indication there's progress being made, anyway.

The only time doms isn't so great is after a session of cardio. If you pull up sore the next day, chances are you're over-exerting yourself. They say on a scale of 1 to 10, your cardio work outs should be at about a 7 in terms of exertion to get the best results. If you regularly work harder than that, you're likely to burn yourself out.
