OH YUM. I've made sweet potato soup before and have added carrots and chick peas as well. The carrots make it sweeter and the chick peas make it creamier. And I always add extra chilli - because I love the heat.

I've loved this soup, it's quite different to the soups I normally make - I've never really experimented with a "blended" soup, but this was SUPER tasty!

Being raised on parsley, coriander is new to me... but I also LOVE a good curry, and this seems to meet me halfway. So it's great!

Sweet potato soup is one of my favourites! When I make it I usually blend in some butter beans for a bit of extra protein and creaminess.

I love the addition of parsnip. I've only recently re-discovered them and buy them when I can. They're fantastic roasted. :D

Ohhh butter beans! Delicious!!! Great idea. Will keep that in mind next time :)

I think any vegetables can go into making the stock. I had some other root vegetable too and I cannot remember what it's called!! It was something.... argh... anyway, anything wintery will work. All adds to the depth of flavour :)
