1) marissa nadler should I check her out? I saw that her new album leaked and I was intrigued

2) Heather Nova's new album is one of her most interesting in awhile and it's pretty simple/acoustic so I was surprised. Would love to see her live sometime.

3) I'm so so so so happy Jill's new album will finally get out!

yeah, i would check out ms. nadler. low-key, minor key stuff and she has a gorgeous (imho) crystalline voice.

glad to hear that heather nova's new album is good. the last few have been slick pop, which is fine, but nothing like the power she is capable of. i can deal with acoustic heather just fine though. plus, she's purty.

and i need to move closer to new york city. we're close enough to go down there easily enough but living in town would make it easier to catch shows...but harder on the wallet as well.

neither of which were released in the states which explains why i don't have them. maybe this show in march in in conjunction with a state-side release for "the jasmine flower?"

i can't really recommend elysian fields enough. they've gone through more than a few changes over the year but the core of jennifer (vocals) and oren (guitar, etc.) has been a constant. smoky, sultry, languid. lovely lovely stuff.

i'm also curious about marissa nadler live. i guess i'll get to report on that next month!

oooh Heather Nova! I agree - I don't always love her albums/songs, but I do adore her live. What a voice!

Oh Charlotte Martin. Eh. Feh. Bleh. She does have some talent though... ;)
