Maybe if I really tried, I could understand the A and B plots as poignant counterpoints, different explorations of the theme of… urg, I really couldn’t figure out the theme, and maybe that was my problem.

I’m not sure McKay and Rush are ruled by the same universal laws
I love this line; it does make sense when you think about it. I mean, they'd probably hate each other (although Rodney did admit that Rush's work was brilliant, so who knows), but it is true. It's mixing a more lighthearted witty quipper with the ego much much larger than a bus with, well, darker grittier more dramatastic. Not saying they can't exist in the same space, SGA and SGU (and SG1) since we ( ... )

I think where I detached is that ... oh, golly, I don't know how I'd actually react / will react when it comes down to it for myself IRL, but I'm pretty spiritual, and kind of regard death as part of life. And so while it was tragic that Mandy and what's her-name were killed young I didn't have an overwhelming desire to see them brought back.
RE: Mandy - I hang with physicists - she actually scans as comparatively pretty well adjusted, even in her obsessive mode.
