This is so fantastic, I cannot even

I'm sorry, I'll come back tomorrow to leave a coherent review, but AHHH this is so, so great; the atmosphere, the interactions, the fight, Laurie! OMG, Laurie's voice is killing me here, and holy shit this is just. So good. Thank you so much, I can't wait to read the second part! ♥ ♥

Oh I am glad! <33333

And, uh. Apparently while copy and pasting this I somehow COMPLETELY FAILED to include the first establishing section. Edited back in, so maybe some of Laurie's body-reading abilities come less out of left-field now. XD

sliiiiip I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. You are a really badass storyteller and this is so much fun to read. Laurie and Ror are exactly the way I like them, both secretly 12 year-old boys with Ror trying SO HARD to hide it and Laurie confident that no one will ever call her on it. Kicking under the table, yoinking the last bit of dessert etc :D They are adorable.

cannot wait for part 2, and "Rating: R"? :DDD

First of all, I absolutely adore all of the detail you've put into this, from the side characters to the details of New York to all the little bits of Laurie and Rorschach's interaction. The writing's so evocative and smooth that it all adds up to this fantastic, fun story that I can't stop reading once I start and that's really easy to visualize.

“Was a good flashlight,” Rorschach eulogizes into the darkness, sounding genuinely mournful. “Solid.”
This and the little exchange following made me laugh out loud. It's perfect.

Maybe it’s the train ride itself that she’s craving, balanced atop the curved top of the car with the dirty wind tangling her hair and snapping her costume’s silk shell tight against her muscles.
The first time I read this I missed this, and when I realized that she was riding on top of the train my reaction was part glee, part LOL, and part endless love. I can see her doing that just for the hell of it ( ... )

Good god, you make me remember why the world needs more Laurie/Rorschach. All the snark and forced improvisation in this is just fantastic - I can't wait to see how it ends!
