Is the diet just to jump start weight loss? I have never really understood why people do it. I wish you the best of luck though. I totally understand the needing to get your food intake under control.
No, it's really to get you back on track with good habits and not overeating. Many people report that it does jumpstart weightloss and I'm hoping to have that side effect too, but really I'm doing it to stop eating crap all the time. I felt I needed a smack in the face.
Please continue to let us know your thoughts. I am always against BS faux diets and "cleansings" to remove "toxins", but I am intrigued by the reset to restart good habits as you are doing. I may end up doing so myself as I see myself getting lazy about getting in all my protein and I really see the effect on my energy.
Also, I cannot tell you guys how many times I take my vitamins or finish the bottle of water in front of me because I've checked in on this community and it reminds me to act right. So, thanks, collectively, for that.
I am still trying to lose my final five lbs as a pre-surgery insurance requirement and have lost track as well. Do you think that this sort of thing would be of benefit for someone pre-surery? It may be a good way to know for myself to get real insight into what it will be like and the added benefit of possibily losing the last five pounds I need to.
I was thinking of posting to the community a call out for postop diets as well.
Many Dr's do require a lquid diet for a couple days (or even weeks!) before surgery. I'd talk with your Dr's office and see if they require one or if they mind if you do one, just to be sure.
