Initially, it won't be hard - you won't want to eat. Getting in the little bit you can will be all you can manage. Down the road, though -yeah, maybe turn the cooking over to the husband until you're in a place to split the duties again. I have days now where I love food and days where I don;t feel like eating - its a balance and each day I make new choices to do right by myself. If your family can help with that, then that's a huge benefit.
I didnt have much of a choice..my kids are 2 and 1...so they CAN"T eat if I don't feed them. My liquid diet was kind of rushed. I only did it for 5 days but it was hard enuf. BUT..when you keep in mind the goal...the surgery...it kind of helps you a bit...at least keeping the eye on the prize helped me.
Make your husband cook. Use this time for him and your son to bond in the kitchen.
You can also cook this week, and cook double or triple the amount, and put it in the freezer, so they can pull something out in the morning, and bake it that night. Google OAMC or Once a month cooking for good recipes.
