So I have found I LOVE the new special K  waters. They only have 50 cals  and 5 grams of protien. I was wondering what your guys take on it. Have any of you post ops tried it- and is it a good idea? I seem to be feeling better since I get the extra protien in.

protein drinks

I'm 8 months post-op. I've tried them, and I thought they were good too. I don't see why they'd be a bad thing to add in for a light snack at all. I just stopped getting them because I wasn't crazy about them and I ended up falling in love with Isopure, which tastes similar and has 40g protein per bottle. I'm horrible about getting everything in though, which is why I love the Isopure so I don't have to try so hard :P But if you've found something you can tolerate, go with it, for sure!!

I got mine at Vitamin Shoppe. They probably have it at GNC too. Do you have either of those around you?

Early out they are okay...

But as you get further out along, calories matter A LOT! That's too much to spend on a liquid other than maybe one day.

Well, how many calories do you consume further out? I didnt think 50 was all that much because Im not eatting much as matter of fact I struggle with eatting. I am usually drink 2 of these a day one in the morning and one while im a work ( sine my breaks are only 15 minutes and I work 7 hours and dont get time to eat)

Early out they are not bad....but when you can eat more eventually, you will be watching calories more precisely. At a year+ out, I'm far hungrier and can eat more so I have to watch what I eat. I don't technically count calories but allow myself 3 meals and 2 snacks at about 100 calories. If I were to have 2 of those protein waters, that would be 100 additional calories. You *will* get to a point that you will be leery about drinking your calories, but for now drink up as that won't be an issue for a while :)
