Things that make me say, "Hmmmmmmmm..."

Sometimes I wonder if men who prefer "their" women in dangerously high heels and platforms have secret (or not-so-secret) control issues. After all, a woman in shoes like that isn't likely to be able to outrun you when you're being a jerk.

There is that. Those things can do some serious damage, if you know how to use them!

We saw this woman running for an elevator yesterday, and MAN she was hustling! I think she could have outrun me in my sneakers. How some folks do that, I'll never know. Me? I can't walk in heels at all.

I've seen women move in heels better than me in flats, too! I'd hate to be their toes and the balls of their feet, but at least they can get around like that for now...until it comes back to bite them later in life.

That's certainly possible. However, as a lover of high heels, I have to add that I have several pairs that are very comfortable and a few I can run in if necessary. It's all about very careful shoe shopping. (Maybe having size 11 feet doesn't hurt, either.) Also, they make my calves look awesome. ;)

[But as I think you know, I wear hiking sandals or Chucks 98% of the time. ;)]

Ever since pumps led to a bunion on my left foot and corns on my feet starting at the young age of 13, I have been wary of heels. I eventually stopped wearing them. I can walk well in them, but they make my bunion and the balls of my feet ache.

I have had great success with platform pumps. I can't wear any heels with less than a 3/4" platform on the sole comfortably, but 1" platform and 4 1/2" total heel seems to work just fine. I can walk 2 miles in heels that fit well without difficulty. That said, they're not for daily wear.

But yeah, age 13 - that's intense!

Yes, I love platform heels. I'm wearing a pair that are super comfortable and easy to hustle in. I probably wouldn't go for a long sprint, though. :)
