Back from Vegas. Had a blast, though I have to say we'll probably never go back. The locals told us it was a slow week, but SO MANY PEOPLE EVERYWHERE ZOMG. I mean, I *knew* it would be busy and crowded, but I hadn't anticipated quite how maddening it would be. And it's fascinating to see all the casinos and shops and whatnot, but... I love Cirque du Soleil. :-) Once I saw them years ago at Disney World - and got a DVD of them. You have made me decide to get out the DVD and watch it again tonight :-D

I have the same feelings about Vegas - I've only been five times - two for a friend who lived there, one for a guy, and two for the World Cup horse jumping/dressage finals :)

and you know what? every time is the SAME. Even though spread over 15 years, not much changed between those visits. I have coworkers who go there constantly and enjoy it and I admit I'm at a total loss on 'why' or what draws them. The Cirque shows are the only reason I'd go back, truthfully. Or the World Cup coming back to Vegas :D

still, it IS something to go and enjoy at least once!

We were in Vegas last year for a wedding and that was my same reaction: fun trip, but no need to go back.

But Hoover Dam, OMG. Completely awesome (in all senses of the world).
