*sniffs* Poor Brad. Death fics always choke me up, but you captured the torment really well. I love the way all the guys rally round in loving support, too. Nicely done, hun. ^_^

Thank you for liking this - I think perhaps funeral/death fics are the hardest ones to get right so I'm happy you think it's well done. ^_^

Wow, that rooftop scene was harrowing, especially the moment when the bottle fell. Very glad that Colin and Greg managed to talk him down.

Am not usually that big a fan of funeral fics but you really pulled this off. Can I cuddle Brad now please?

This is tragically beautiful. Brad's sadness is palpable. You did a wonderful job with this. I think my favorite part was this: He was standing near the ledge of the rooftop looking over the city, bathed in the loving warmth of the sunset, a bottle of scotch hanging limply from his hand and a forgotten cigarette in the other. The black suit jacket he was wearing flapped uncaringly in the wind and the tie around his neck had been loosened enough for him to breathe. This is such a fantastic, powerful image that it makes me wonder if it was the inspiration for the story as a whole.

Ooh, and this line, too: Brad’s answering smile was odd; still sad, but hopeful aswell. “Or maybe she’ll catch me, huh?” That just speaks so clearly his absolute desolation. Like I said, this was sad but wonderful.

I'm utterly pleased that you picked up on that rooftop image, as you're absolutely right. I had that idea of Brad, broken and dishevelled, standing before a sunset city and it gave other ideas as to why he'd be there. Danke! ^__^

Also, that image would look beautiful as some fanart... *ahem* I mean, I'd draw it myself but I'm eternally unable to draw Brad correctly. xD

Oh.

My.

GOD.

You have me sobbing here. SOBBING. This is utterly heartbreaking. I want to hug Brad and take away his pain.

“D’you think if I fell, I would shatter, too?”

Oh. Oh. So much pain in that question. And then this: “How can the world just carry on?” YES. Because when you're grieving, it's just utterly incomprehensible that life is just going on around you - that your loss didn't put an end to all time and space for everyone.

I can't get much more coherent than this. Completely shattering and beautiful.
