Ahh, love for Denny! I love her so much and it's so awesome that you've written fic for her ♥ I love all the little details you've put in, like the Vons bag and the mocha frappuccino, and her thoughts were so IC and perfect~ This is such a wonderful slice of life drabble ♥
Awww, thanks! I adore Denny; in fact, the first fic I posted in this comm (as my alter ego ktnflag) focused on her. She was criminally underutilized on Whose Line and it kills me that her career has basically gone nowhere.
Lol, it's funny you used the phrase "slice of life" -- you have no idea how right you are :-) I'm guilty of using an advent calendar in exactly the same way ("Yay, only 16 more chocolates until random shop assistants stop harassing me about a holiday I don't celebrate!").
To be honest, I thought she was the best woman on Whose Line and I wish she had been in more scenes/episodes :( I hope that she's still doing things even if they're not so much on the Internet (a lot of theatre events seem to go under the radar) >.<
Haha, I guess I'm the opposite of you - I love Christmas and celebrating it but I can totally see how it would get annoying having people ask you about a holiday you don't celebrate. I've never actually had an advent calendar but I just love the idea of getting a new surprise each day ^.^;
I am one of those obnoxious people who gets VERY into Christmas, so I can't completely relate to her, but I have gotten some evil looks from a couple friends of mine who get as fed up as Denny around Christmas time, and this feels very much like one of those looks *nod nod nod* I've gotten a few of those already this year...
You get very into Christmas? Really? You? I hadn't noticed at all... *collapses into giggle fit, awaits being pelted with candy canes*
I'd imagine that Denny would feel it less in LA, where she's got the benefit of a large Jewish community, but here in Sydney it can like you're a gefilte fish swimming against the tide at this time of year.
