Aya was in the process of deciding which flavor to order when Omi burst through the door and tore her from the glass case of labeled tubs. She turned in surprise as he called out her name, where she continued to blankly stare at him as though he had just announced a cheerful intention to swallow live worms.
Late? No, she'd left the building-- to get away from them. They weren't supposed to follow. And Omi wasn't supposed to go on any sort of date with her unless one counted her wrangling him into a trip out for crepes after dinner. Even that was under threat of cancellation in light of the discoveries made since.
Several seconds passed, and still all she could manage was, "What are you talking about?"
