Rita was paired with Romilda for the week, which would be interesting, to say the least. But where had the damn girl got to?
After a search of the house, Rita found her in the kitchen, papers strewn all over the table. She stopped behind her and looked over her shoulder at all the calculations on the table.
"Hmm," she murmured. "Do you really think it's a mathematical question? Don't riddles usually... sound like something different to what they are? You know, like the one about the crows in the tree and the killing curses? Where there are twenty and three curses are thrown but all the bords fly away after the first one? Or have you never heard that?"
Curse breaker? Well, that was interesting. Especially from the girl who worked behind the bar at a pub and didn't know what she wanted to do with her life. Rita couldn't help her curiosity.
"I tried applying at Gringotts, but they didn't need any new Curse-Breakers." She shrugged. "But I needed something to pay the rent with, so I took the job at the Leaky."
"Well," Rita smiled, looking at the girl. "Don't forget your dreams."
She glanced at the parchment on the table. "Perhaps you should practice with putting a curse on that. We don't want to leave it laying around where anyone can get at it, anyway."
"No problem." Romilda smiled and tapped the parchment with her wand, watching it fold up till the side of an envelope.
She picked up the quill and wrote a small series of runes on the front, before flicking her wand again and muttering a spell under her breath. "That should do it."

"Wanted?" she asked. "Why the past tense?"

"Fabulous," Rita smiled. "Now, shall we go and have a drink and gloat?"
