So, back home, there's a war between the White Council -- the wizards -- and the vampires. Sure, we've got alliances, and so do they, but that's what it boiled down to. A war that I'm not sure if we were winning -- they kill some of us, we kill some of them, and nothing much changes, besides that we've got dead people ( Read more... )

It's not every day you get to join up with a world saving group. My bunch of misfit friends back home often get into trouble at the drop of the hat and we don't get compensated for it. Not even a bloiting thank you from Thrall (though we'd have to leave Silvermoon for that).

At least you're starting fresh in this world, right? People still look at me and remark "AAAH, ZOMBIE!"

That'll never get old for A'dal's frackin sake!

Sounds like normal. Hell, the only reason I was a Warden back home was because the Council really was that desperate. I did save the world a couple of times before that, but just got a pat on the back from the Council, if they noticed at all.

Oh I know the feeling.

"Okay, I've collected your ten buzzard asses, risking life, limb, a big repair bill and the fact that I've died twice. Now pony up and give us our goddamn gold."

"Okay, here's your 75 silver! Now I have something else for you to collect!"

God I hate Quest Givers sometimes.

And yeah. Zombie. Undead. Scourge-born. Whatever. Very tragic story of a world torn by war, the upheaval of an entire human society, blah blah blah. I'm not contagious or anything though. At least that's what our Apothecary society says. But then these are the guys who make Flesh Golems and constantly refine plagues to use on foes so meh.

Generally where I come from, the undead aren't too coherent. They're just the echoes of people who've died. Usually brought back to work for some lunatic in black robes, or just hanging around their death site.

So, bit of a culture shock there.
