MOD POST - Inactivity II
First of all I'd like to say I'm very very sorry for the long delay with these. As you've seen we had to turn to essenceofadream for help because both utkari02 and I have been crazy busy.
But enough with the excuses. What the polls have shown is that evidently none of us have time to spare for icons, neither mods nor members. So I believe we might be able to find a less demanding schedulle for us all so that we can go on having fun with this without going crazy in the attempt.
Basically I've thought of a number of changes that we could put to work (all together or only some) and have also added a few suggestions made by the members:
OPTION A: Two icons per challenge.
Many suggested this option and it'd certainly be the easiest way out. Whomever has time can enter a big batch of icons and then it doesn't really matter how many people is in.
Disadvantage: We already have very recurrent winners, so chances are the same two or three people would be taking all awards.
OPTION B: Less challenges.
This would take a nice load off both our backs and yours. I think by now we all know Actor and Caption Challenges are far more popular than Hunts and Text. Perhaps we could do without one of those? A less harsh alternate option would be to keep one or two permanent and alternate between the others.
Disadvantage: Often variety of choice is encouraging to enter since it stimulates your creativity.
OPTION C: Have two-weeks-challenges.
Permanently extend the dead lines and give us all an extra week to participate. This would surely take a lot of work of the mods' backs, and you guys would know from the start that you'd have a very long time to enter.
Disadvantage: I don't think it would necesarily improve participation. We've been making a lot of extensions lately and in the end people tend to just forget about them rather than take more time to enter.
