New Year's Eve

All around the compound, there's a New Year's Eve party going on. At first, the drinking and carousing hadn't seemed all that interesting, but as the night wore on, they started getting curious

Kit rubbed his hands together, grabbing a slice of lime and then sprinkling salt on his hand. "Here we go," he said with a grin, licking the salt, drinking a swig of tequila out of the bottle--and then he found himself nearly overtaken by a coughing fit. He popped the lime into his mouth, sucking as his eyes watered. "...S'good," he gasped after taking the lime from his mouth, grinning through his tears.

Nita giggled, thumping Kit on the back as he choked. If that wasn't enough to get her laughing, nothing was. "Good, huh? Alright -" She took the bottle and eyed it balefully as she looked over at Dairine. "No teasing." She did what Kit had done, and managed (barely) to not cough. Instead there was a choked 'Nngh' noise as she winced, and then she took a bite out of the lime, her eyes watering. "Why do people do this?"

This was one of the ones Winry hadn't tried (yet), so she watched Nita and Kit interestly. "Ooooooh," she said, scrunching up her face and trying not to laugh. "It's disgusting!" Disgusting in a fascinating sort of way, though.

"Of course it is," Dairine laughs, wrinkling her nose. "Okay. Salt, shot, lime!" She repeats it over in her head a few times: salt, shot, lime, as she pours a bit of the salt onto her hand and does the whole sequence in such rapid succession that she scarcely tastes it on the way down.

Just as she's beginning to think that horrible opposite day was good for something after all, and she's in the clear, she starts to cough. "Oh, God. That's horrible!"
