[For anyone close enough to his house, they will hear Jay's voice coming from a tree. Because that's where he is. Yes, he currently has the phone strung through a window to the outdoors.

Now there's a pause before he mumbles to himself:]

Droned. It's when they kind of... brainwash you in a way. Could rage from a few hours to a few days, possibly even weeks.

You don't remember anything after you come to.

And what happens when you're "droned"? Do you just sit around dumbly or something?

Usually after one of the, uh, "events" here, the town will send you something back. You don't have any control over what it is, though.

Also, don't pick up any of the stuff at the post office, unless you don't mind losing body parts. Or memories.

And if you want to skip school, just ended once every other day or two to avoid getting droned. Don't learn the hard way like me.

From what I've seen, they sort of just... disappear. Violently. Like they've been suddenly ripped away.

Yeah. I mean, grades don't mean much in Mayfield, yeah? I pretty much only go for social things, and sports... I figure as long as I get passing grades and show up every so often, I won't get droned again.
