Bringing livelings pie and cookies only does so much for him. Things are going pretty well with Bruce, but 'pretty well' doesn't mean 'please make me bleed', and getting to play with Nita and ice cubes only goes so far.

So: restless.

Toying with an empty shot glass and contemplating whether or not to add (the other) Will to the pie-and-cookies roster.

"Well."

Pause.

"I think you'll ruin your reputation Downside if you let that get out."

[nowait_letme]

"Yeah, me too. Luckily I'm Bound, and the only person here from my Downside already knows I'm just a big softy really."

This is said in a tone of measured irony; Chainsaw is many things, but 'a big softy' is rarely one of them.

He blinks. "You're actually Bound?"

He cocks his head.

"Yeah?"

"I just didn't know. I thought you were still -- going out."

[nowait_letme]

"Nope."

It's a touch flat.

Chainsaw takes to confinement about as well as you'd expect, which is to say not at all.

He cocks his head very slightly, watching him, arms still folded.

"I'm sorry."

He starts to shrug it off, stops halfway through, and shakes his head.

Wryly: "Thanks."

Now his tone is entirely too light.

"Seen Eights around?"

Eight-Hour, bless her crazy little heart, would be a perfect solution to his problem.

Ah, shit.

"Not lately."

He lets out a soft breath and rubs the back of his neck.

"That answers my next question."

"Which was gonna be...?"

Quiet: "How you're handling it."

[nowait_letme]

Dryly: "Could be worse."

He could, for example, not be getting laid. That would suck.

A non-committal noise.

Shrug.

"Okay, so the thing I've been avoiding asking this whole time: can I come through to your Downside? If I don't find somebody to fuck up I'm gonna go nuts, my Will is out for obvious reasons, things are already weird enough between you and me, and everybody else I know here is a liveling."
