Hawai'i photos!!

Here is a handful of what I witnessed during my visit. I'll post more as I receive them.
My apologies for the poor quality. My camera is less than adequate.

DISCLAIMER: It is obviously apparent in my photos that I am the hugest plant nerd ever. I am open to insults. :P

*gasp* GINGER!

Did you manage to try any noni that wasn't rotten?

I did indeed, and brought some juice home.

What does it taste like? Save some for me!

I think my friend Ryan, the raw foodist, would also like to try it. He likes durian, so he might enjoy other garlic/onion flavoured fruits.

Three months of Photo 1 do not an expert make, believe me. And I know jack-all about digital. So there!

I was using my sister's 2.3 megapixel something, Olympus P.O.S. for these.
I would love to take a digital photography course, and I may have fallen in love with the Canon Digital Rebel XT.

P.S. your lovely snake friend has been a welcome addtion to my desk-wall area. Thanks!

dude, sweet pictures.
some comments:
1) ginger?! sweet. was it the infamous "shampoo ginger" i read about in your hawaii plant books?
2) SWEET DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!! i looove dolphins. i know everyone does but they are so smart. and awesome. plus they OBVIOUSLY have sex for fun too, and they play with stuff. i'm convinced with some effort we could learn their dolphin language.
3) during reading week we should make a volcano project. like just work really hard on a project complete with volcano model. for no reason okay?
4) noni could be a hoax. i mean its probably good for you, but you know how i feel about cure-alls. they supposedly eat that in india but my mom has no clue what it is!!!! soon i will google cool/wierd fruit from india.
anyway, my parents like gross stuff like jackfruit so they'd probably like it :P
those pictures are the awesome!!! YAY!!! HAWAII!!!!!

Could be a hoax. I wanted to try it all the same though. Apparently the Hawaiian people ate it "in times of famine" and generally used it as a preventitive medicine, sort of like ginseng, I suppose.
I have never tried jackfruit, but I did try durian. Now durian is something I may grow to like.

The ginger IS the shampoo-ginger, and sushi ginger. I hate the stuff, wasabi too. Nasty, nasty.

Those dolphins were nuts! And super-awesome. I didn't see them having sex for fun however. Dolphin language= yesyes! lets do it! Volcanoes too.

If you decide to chase after durian, don't buy the ones they have out at Superstore. Never buy them unless you see them coming out of the freezer. They are extreemly perishable - you'll probably want to eat it still frozen, because by the time it thaws it's often rotten.
