A Nine-Days WonderpanmodalApril 23 2009, 14:34:04 UTC
The fairy tales of George MacDonald have a particular and peculiar atmosphere of closeness and intimate significance, such that when I lay them aside after reading for a time, I find it difficult to move on immediately to anything else. The music of Withiel affects me in much the same way, in that it is jarring to listen to other music after immersing myself in your unique medium.
Case in point: yesterday evening I listened to King Zeppelin twice through then went to bed, knowing that there wasn't anything else I was going to accomplish that night (although I seriously considered a walk in the rain).
I regret only that you weren't in my Walkman through college. I think it would have helped.
