I actually went to the town in that song...it's in Kauai and it's spelled "Hanalei" and actually pronounded "Hana Lay" they changed the pronounciation just for the song...:P

omg... this used to be my favorite thing ever, pretty much. The real versionof the song is one of my absolutel favorites..and every time I hear it it makes me want to learn how to play guitar really badly, lol.

I used to love the song as a child. The movie version pissed me off. I did not like the anthropomorphization (I'm not sure if that's a word) of Puff. I also didn't like the overly abundant messages of morality, Using Your Imagination, and other concepts that people try to impress upon young children by beating them in the heads. =P
