Wow... Anchorage does sound awesome. Excepting the fact that Alaska has a shitty governor lol, it sounds mad fabulous~! *jealous*

For me, Anchorage would probably be the city I'd live in if I were here. It has mild winters for that part of Alaska, it gets butt cold but not as cold as it can. Also, it's just a few hours from Fairbanks. It's also very close to Denali National Park and also western Alaska (Homer for example). In Alaska, a "short trip" can be a few hundred miles but residents say that they go that far for movies so whatever :)
It's also close to the Artic Circle and it's a short drive to prime Aurora areas. My second choice would be Juneau.

Lol, I really don't know. All I know is that the tour guide in Skagway said that he's driven over 100 miles just for a movie and that people in that part of Alaska and Canada don't think much of it :P
