heartbreaking...but I guess that's the point, and still they find each other....*smirk* and it all comes together in a bowling alley none the less, I mean nothing says you belong to me like the sound of pins clunking together! lol.
"No, really. You've stopped looking at me with that tragic expression on your ugly mug. I really hated that look, Sammy. But your eyes aren't sad anymore." He smiled, a small, soft smile. It was a smile Sam hadn't seen since before the accident, but he recognized it. He saw it and knew it for what it was - his brother. Not Dean before, not Dean after, just Dean.
Oh, Dean. Oh, Sam. &hearts&hearts&hearts
I love, love, LOVE the additions you've made, especially Dean's slow but sure acceptance of their relationship. And that Sam would NOT give up on his brother, no matter what. Plus that ending, oh, my. That Dean didn't tell Sam what he was doing with Baby, because he knew how important the car was to his brother, because he wanted it to be a surprise. *sniffle* Yup, still heartbreaking, but gloriously so! Outstanding job! &hearts
Sigh, I can't even imagine. Sam must have been torn in two, On one hand, Dean was happier than he been since before his mom died, but on the other, Dean was the only person who could have understood Sam and his not remembering what happened to them was agony for Sam. I loved this. Thank you!
This was lovely. I like how you showed how heartbroken Sam was without going over the top wih the angst, and Dean fixing the Impala was just precious. Thanks for sharing. :-)
And hey, I just realized. That when they go to Heaven (I mean where else would they go in the end?) Dean can relive some of his memories there! And if they're still missing he can still relive the moments he had with Sam.

And you're right about Heaven - I never even thought of that!
