The descriptions of the clothes made me crack up, especially Jensen's pale yellow sweater over his shoulders. Oh, 80s, please don't make a comeback. *g*

I really liked how they kept intersecting, and each time you could see how they'd changed, but they still fit together.

Matchbox 20 lyrics are a perfectly valid way to find titles! (At least as valid as randomly googling poetry, which is my other main method. Um.)

(Two tiny things: the Porsche model is a Boxter, and the fish is tilapia. Feel free to ignore and/or delete this.)

I was wrong about the Porsche -- there's a silent S in there too! Boxster. Could they have made it more difficult???

(That icon always makes me laugh when I see it.)

You know, I've been aware of the plot of Same Time Next Year ever since the movie came out, but I've never actually watched it because it just sounded kind of depressing to me. It's an intriguing thought, though, this idea of leading a double life, sort of getting to have your cake and eat it, too. Whatever the movie did or didn't do, I think you've done a nice job here of putting across what something like this might be like. This:

"Dude, let me just -" Jensen broke off as Jared's tongue swept along the shell of his ear and his breath blew hot on Jensen's neck. "Christ, what is wrong with this motherfucking key?"

...made me laugh out loud.

Enjoyable read; thanks.

The thing about the movie is that it was really funny, mostly because of the cast. It's interesting to watch, because you're thinking, aww, how sweet, and then after it over, you think, whoa, really?

But I'm glad the story worked for you, anyway, and thanks for telling me. :)

Very moving tale. Quite sad. Reflected the film well. The care you put into writing it shows in the elegance of the glimpses of their lives.

Oh, god, thank you. When I first set out to write this, months and months ago, I had no idea how hard it would be. It seemed like such fun on the surface, BUT IT'S NOT. I love the movie, although I'm not quite sure why. But it is so, so good to hear this. Thank you. /needy author

Thank you so much for such thoughtful feedback, and I'm really glad you liked it. I agree, it's a difficult premise. I had trouble letting it go, because it was so hard to write, and ended up going on and on about the movie and the story yesterday. If you're interested, especially in what the movie was like, it's here.
