[Sokka is fairly shocked to be in existence again. Azula had actually succeeded, she'd actually won. She won, she'd killed him, he'd failed, there was no way you could look at it positively. He'd gotten one hit in

[The day before, Hakoda had spent a lot of time looking for Sokka after not finding him in his room when he went to visit. He'd checked the ship rather thoroughly no less. So hearing this... and remembering their past conversation on the subject of death, he suddenly feels cold. It's that same sort of feeling he felt all those years ago...
"I think mom is in trouble! There's a man in our house!"
He swallows hard before he's able to speak.]
Sokka... [Like Toph. He knows what this means. He knows exactly what this means. Spirits help him.]
[Hiccup just...does that. He's clutching Sokka's shirt in the middle, so tightly it's wrinkling something awful. He knocks on Sokka's door with quick, sharp taps and proceeds to hop from foot to foot until his biffle answers.]
[This is one of those odd moments, certainly, when someone else entirely opens the door. Sokka's hair is down, around his face, and rather messy. He looks, somehow, worse than the last time Hiccup saw him.]
[Toph doesn't respond. She's already flying down to deck 11. She hasn't stopped to check if she has any of Sokka's things and she leaves the elevator so fast that she miss-counts the doors and has to double back.]
Sokka. Open the door.
[Is calling from the hallway really the smartest thing to do right now? Does Sokka even want visitors?

I got killed.
[Total matter-of-fact statement. Three guesses as to who did it and the first two don't count.]

[He's a little surprised that she wants to come see him, they don't talk that much. But, whatever. He locks his reply, just in case.]

I've got your shirt.
[Hiccup sounds a little stunned that he does.]
I didn't know at first--I mean, I was gonna give you a message that maybe I--
I thought maybe you left it. That you went stripping or something ridiculous like that, but I--I-I guess not.
...you sure you're missing them? You didn't just get drunk without me, right?

[Sorry, Samuel.
Anyway:]
You should... probably just bring it by and I'll explain.

Yeah, Toph hasn't thought of any of that.]

[Sokka is borrowing Hiccup's lack of tact, don't mind him, Zuko. He's not his normal, dorky, sarcastic self right now.]

I should... probably just tell you in person. I wasn't around to see you, anyway.
It's been a while.
[For him, not you, Zuko.]
