07: [Boredom-tinged audio]

[Sokka's a little bored. Emphasized by the heavy sigh before he starts speaking.]

Okay, so. I've been here a little while.

What exactly is there to do around here? Because with all that craziness before, I never really got to find out.

[Is that an audible realization? It might be. Sokka makes a sound somewhere between a squeak, a gasp and a ( Read more... )

Look, I don't know how to use this thing to send writing.

[He doesn't read the English alphabet or anything. But, in any case, he starts poking around to figure out if he can send things that look like words he recognizes.]

They have various knives in the kitchen. They might be willing to part with one, if you ask.

Otherwise, if you can find something like, say...a metal nail filer, it would be extremely easy to make yourself an object sharp enough for whittling. And possibly easier than asking for a knife.

That would be good, but I would prefer a sword, or something, but mostly... I just want my boomerang. Maybe I could fit a knife into the boomerang. And then it would be a knife-er-ang.

A sword for whittling?

[he's seen stranger]

Hm...Do you mean a knife with boomerang characteristics or a sharpened boomerang?

Oh! You mean knives to do the whittling with. See, I was thinking-- you know what, nevermind. Knives. In the kitchens. Got it.

[Sokka respects swords. He's not going to use them to chop vegetables or anything ridiculous.]

Well, back home? I used just a sharpened boomerang. But I'm talking like, a wooden boomerang with a metal blade in it. But that would probably throw off its trajectory, so it's not the BEST idea.

I think I'm going racing with Jim, but I don't really have plans after that. Why? Do you have something in mind?

I'll be online in an hour or so, hon! I'm sorry ;A; talkingfishbone June 2 2010, 02:50:02 UTC
Oh, yeah, that racing thing.

Sure, that sounds good. I was thinking of going exploring, you know, see what's all here, but whatever's fine.

No worries! We can start the thread tonight at least <3 ALSO I LOVE YOU FOREVER withanokka June 2 2010, 03:02:31 UTC
Dude, wait, no. I am totally up for exploring, we have to do that after racing. I've only been here a little longer than you-- I haven't had the chance.

We need to explore.

[The word "explore" is said with an uncharacteristic amount of reverence.]

Ever thought about finding a tomb and raiding it? It's a profitable kind of thrill.

YOU SAID RAIDING. I'M SORRY. withanokka June 2 2010, 01:22:15 UTC
[Sokka has a sudden mental image of himself, standing astride an ancient, stone pedestal, wearing a ridiculously worn hat. In a pool of light, there is a small, jade idol that looks remarkably like Appa, and in his hand is a bag of sand. He empties out a few handfuls. Very, very carefully, he nudges it closer to the idol and-- AHA! Snatches it away, replacing the idol with the sand. And then a giant boulder comes rolling by from out of nowhere.

He shakes his head.]

Profitable, I'm sure, but I think I need to cut back on my... "adventure time".

[He mumbles something about boulders.]

SHOULD HE HAVE SAID STEALTHILY LOOTING INSTEAD? haveuseenmyass June 2 2010, 03:11:17 UTC
[Ah, boulders: The tomb raider's enemy. The Prince has triggered one or two rock slides in his time. It's usually from raiding a place a few centuries too old and taking that valuable jewel that happens to be holding the rest of the pillar up. Don't ask him how it's possible, because he's usually busy running away when it happens.]

Need to up another quota then? I hear "mother-henning" is an important one, if you're looking for something a little less exciting.

[Look, he's lost an arm, been burned, and been eaten by a fish in less than a month.]

I'm thinking I'll up my "making weapons to keep from getting hurt during adventure times" quota, instead.
