This is a lovely, lovely picspam, and I concur with all your thoughts about what it means for Damon and Elena. They are simply beautiful together, and I can only imagine what fun it will be to watch them develop more fully.
It’s telling that he says “You don’t do it for me anymore.” It reinforces the fact that Damon is not interested in Elena for her looks or her body (both of which are identical to Katherine’s), but for who she is, for how she makes him feel. It’s a reminder that, for Damon, Elena is not a replacement for Katherine. And yes! Isn't it so wonderful? For Damon to be so over her, and to be able to identify the absolute differences between them -- and more importantly, the love he had for Katherine perpetuated a monster; the love he has for Elena perpetuates a hero. It's so telling, and GORGEOUS. ♥

I know, right? I've been a Damon/Elena shipper from day one, and it's been a long (painful and backsliding) road, and while I am all for slow progressions, it is really nice to finally get some positive progress in that relationship.
