Title: Forever
Fandom: Glee/Klaine
Rating: PG?
Summary: Blaine couldn’t help but think about how his voice would sound when they were up by the altar, all the glamour and grit of the New York lifestyle him and Kurt had both been dreaming of safely outside, and only the bare promises of love remaining, as if it could’ve happened right here and right now and it would’ve been all the same.
A/N: Reaction fic to thinking about Klaine at Wemma’s wedding. Emotional creys.
“Emma looks beautiful,” Blaine whispered to Kurt.
“Her dress is the perfect style for her, I agree. Although I think it would’ve done better with a bit of lace around-“
“Kurt.” Blaine admonished.
“Alright, alright,” he agreed, “she really does look beautiful. I think everyone else can tell how happy they are up there too.” He nodded his head around to the assembled New Directions, all glancing a little teary eyed at Will and Emma, who were nothing but dry eyed either.
“This is worth all of planning it combined, isn’t it?” Blaine whispered again.
He turned to look at Blaine, who was smiling fondly at him.
“Yes it was,” he answered. “But that’s not what you’re thinking about right now, is it?”
He smiled sheepishly, focusing his hazel eyes upon a tearing Emma.
“I, I do,” she choked out quietly; her high voice was strained but not forced. Blaine couldn’t help but think about how his voice would sound when they were up by the altar, all the glamour and grit of the New York lifestyle him and Kurt had both been dreaming of safely outside, and only the bare promises of love remaining, as if it could’ve happened right here and right now and it would’ve been all the same.
“I do,” Will echoed, strong and sure. And how would Kurt sound on their wedding day? Would he cry too? Would he smile like he had when they first met? Or would he cry with Blaine, each stifling tiny tears behind their eyelids as they stared into each other eyes, the pools of their futures?
Kurt leaned in. “You know, our wedding would be simple while still being chic. I wouldn’t want to go over the top, but at the same time, it’s been something that I feel like I’ve been planning forever and that deserves its due attention.”
Blaine refocused on Kurt; Kurt’s eyes were shiny and hopeful.
“It’ll be perfect.” But then Blaine’s voice cracked, and he lowered his eyes to hide their moistness. “Because of us. And how we survived. And how we’ll be up there, exactly like that,” Kurt’s smile quivered, he blinked his eyes rapidly, “and how nobody will be there to tell us we can’t be together,” Will and Emma slid wedding bands onto each other’s fingers, “and how we’ll be free to kiss,” up at the altar Will and Emma pressed their lips together, “in front of everyone.”
“And how,” Kurt added, clearing his throat softly before starting, “we’ll be free to love each other-”
“Forever.” Blaine concluded.
Kurt smiled. “Forever.”
