Easy Silence
Dixie Chicks

When the calls and conversations
Accidents and accusations
Messages and misperceptions
Paralyze my mind

Busses, cars, and airplanes leaving
Burning fumes of gasoline
And everyone is running
And I come to find a refuge in the

Easy silence that you make for me
It's okay when there's nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you ( Read more... )

I always swore I was getting out of my small town b/c I didn't want to fall into the same trap as I saw many more than likely doing. They were going to become there parents.

**Marry not to far out of high school to someone from the same school and town**

**Have kids**

**Their kids will become friends w/ each other just as they did**

**And as their kids grow up, the cycle repeats itself**

SO.... Here's to change. Here's to growing up and experiencing new things and not living the next 30 years as if you are still 17!!!!!!

I swear to god, being there yesterday, I felt like I was trapped in a time warp. They all looked the same as in high school, they all acted the same, and I was like, "What the hell, did I do a go back in time spell before I left the house and not realize it?"

I was just like all of the loners that you see in the teen movies. Of by myself, doing my own thing. I was such a cliche that I even snuck off to the girls room to smoke. If I went back to my reunion they would think I was lost or something.

I swear to the Gods, I felt like I entered the episode of "Charmed" where Phoebe went back to high school and cast the spell where they were still all the same age, and yet she was the one who managed to come out of it somehow.

Then I get an email today talking abot how they want to do yearly reunions and I'm like, "You do fucking weekly reunions at bars, what the hell? Yearly reunions? I don't think so."

I may have been a jock in high school, but I was also labeled as a "drifter" and a "loner" because I couldn't stand half the people who went there. It all just seemed so fake, you know?
