:( Nice illustration of someone who is still missing the point. He might be someone who actually needs that class, though it did provoke a bit of an eyeroll for me. I thought at first it might be something for intellectually impaired people or those with dementia-- in which case, it might be perfect. But as part of a larger self-help kind of movement... whoops, there go the eyes again.
I would worry a little about capturing a worm instead of a caterpillar. Because pupae can be disgusting enough, but sometimes what comes out of them is moreso! Although not generally deserving of being pinned up as a specimen display. :(
You have a very interesting thesis, and I'm glad you shared this bit of research with us. Steven really did miss the point! Pinning a live butterfly to a board so you have something to show for capturing it and confining it seems a bit off.
I think a lot could be gleaned from an adult preschool class as well. Whether most people would be at a point that they'd actually benefit from it when all their lives success and what you have to show for yourself means everything, I'm not sure.

Goodness - yes. The idea of pinning live butterflies gives me shivers.. let alone any other insect.
