[It's 1345. Fifteen minutes until the afternoon classes begin. It's still early and he doesn't expect any of the cadets to show up until five to. But by now, they should all be used to the strict schedule Garden adheres to and are just finishing their lunch in the Cafeteria. Squall's in one of the 2F classrooms. There are eight types of gunblades ( Read more... )

Want to talk to Squall but I never turn down a party~ vanadiel_knight October 1 2010, 09:39:31 UTC
[The door's going to slide open now and Akiela is going to poke her head in, glancing around uncertainly. When she spots him, she smiles and steps in.]

Introduction to gunblades... right?

[He turns to look back at the cadet and then turns to face them, nodding once.]

That's right.

Then you must be Commander Leonhart. [She crosses her arm over her chest, making a fist above her heart in salute.] Thank you for taking the time to instruct today.

(Their form of a salute? And I didn't have much of a choice...)

[He gives her another nod.] Sit wherever you want.

Alone's fine, but people joining in isn't so bad either. rebellingheart October 1 2010, 13:11:56 UTC
[Considering how things have been lately, showing up late really does make sense right about now. Stubborn as ever though, Rinoa shows up fifteen minutes early, ignoring how common sense dictates she should handle this. Instead she's set on trying to act like nothing has changed and everything was like it always had been.If she behaves the same energetic way as normal then maybe he wouldn't pick up on the fact that there were still entirely too many things bothering her or that she's not been sleeping very well lately. She's also hoping that Laguna hadn't spilled the beans and told Squall about how she'd grilled him for new about her fa... about Caraway. Really she's probably just lucky that there's class so he can't lecture her about about much because there isn't time.So with that in mind, she walks up to Squall who's clearly spending entirely too much time in his head ( ... )

[He should have known she would pop in for the class. Gunblades or not. And he has no problem with her sitting in and listening and learning; he's kind of looking forward to introducing the weapons and explaining them and all that classroom-y stuff. But after the whole situation that had gone down a while back between them- nothing has changed for him, he still cares for her, still wants to be friends. And hey - maybe they can work things out, who knows.

For now Squall turns at the sound of her voice and returns the smile with a brief one of his own.]

Commander is fine.

[Who could predict how Squall's going to react to finding out that she was super serious about learning how to use a gunblade? The situation in and of itself could end up going either very good or comically bad depending on how things went. Either way he'll find Rinoa to be an eager student at least, so there wouldn't be too much of a problem on that front.

Still the smile is unexpected, though a nice surprise. His words, also not expected, make her pause before she responds accordingly.]

I thought you hated being called Commander. Why the change of heart?

I'm not exactly Instructor material.

[His reply is a little on the dry side but it's true. He's hardly fit to be an instructor and teach a class. This was all Cid's idea to begin with.]

[Luki arrives with ten minutes to spare. She's excited enough about this class to be punctual and to actually care about making a good impression. Mostly because gunblades, in her mind, are one of the coolest inventions ever. She skips into the classroom with her gunblade. It's a fairly nice yet basic model, and she's decorated the hilt of it with black and pink ribbon.]

Are we going to learn something fun today? I already practiced a bit in the Training Center.

[Squall just blinks at the sight of her gunblade. And doesn't comment.]

Have a seat.

[Minato arrives right after Luki. Also wanting to make a good impression, he's wearing the cadet uniform this day (which isn't all that impressive, given how he alternates between wearing that and his Gekkoukan uniform) and had actually left his headphones in his room all day. He's wondering if Junpei will take this class as well - a gunblade sounds like something right up his alley.

He recognizes Squall from the few entrance ceremonies he had been sighted on, and, recalling last quarter's Garden Code class, gives the salute.]

Good afternoon, Commander.

[Obedience doesn't come naturally to Luki, but she takes a seat as instructed. It's right in the front row, and she's watching Squall with her mismatched eyes wide with barely contained enthusiasm. After a moment, she raises her hand. She doesn't wait to be called on to speak, but she's at least learning some manners.]

Are we going to go to the Training Center for part of the lessons, Mister Commander Leonhart Sir?

[There's multiple forms of proper address around here. Luki didn't pay attention to what was supposed to be used when, so she'll cover all of the ones she can]

Whichever is fine~ dragon_savior October 5 2010, 02:39:44 UTC
[Seeing as Rinoa was so intent on learning to use a Gunblade, Ryu figures he should learn a little about the weapon itself. After all, the mental image it brought up was Momo's bazooka attached to a sword, and he didn't see any way that could be practical.]

It's good to see you again.

[He offers Squall a wave, which turns into a salute. Military formalities are still a tad foreign to the boy, but he's learning.]

[Squall returns that wave-turned-into-salute with a short nod.]

Cadet.

You look well today, good. I should thank you, understanding the Gunblade a bit better might help me train someone.

You might need to check into specializing in bladed weapons if you want to train someone.
