[ Tseng just really isn't comfortable with all of this. He would say that world-hopping makes him cranky, but he hasn't really done it enough to set a trend. Yet. Gaea, he hopes this won't be a recurring thing

[ Man, Reno's up to his eyeballs in papers and shit, and he's got about ten of them in his arms trying to figure out what's due when and-- Fucking end of quarter what is this bullshi--
...oh.
Oh shit.
That's.
That's a very familiar silhouette, yes it is.
Fuck. Uh. He should like, maybe. Put some of this crap away and at least pretend like he hasn't been acting like a complete tool this entire time. Most probably.
...maybe if he just slowly backs up the way he came, Tseng won't see him. ]
[ ...ow that pun I think it physically wounded me. xD ]
Uh. What do you wanna know? They're training us to be mercenaries, people here are from all over, they ain't smart enough not to keep the fire magic away from me...
[ Reno shrugs, leaning against a wall. ]
One big thing I noticed was this world's an awful lot like home, though. Flora, fauna, all that shit. We ride chocobo, they ride chocobo. The damn currency's the same.
Ask half the other sorry bastards around here, though, and they have no idea what gil or chocobo are.
all these icons of Zack, Tseng. /leersbloodinkedJune 30 2010, 04:19:16 UTC
No Midgar. Got some place called... Esthar or something, though. It's their central... something or other. Their... capital? Some shit like that.
I've been getting on fine. Got a room, get regular meals. Besides the classes bullshit, it hasn't been too bad. Training to pilot shit on this side of the fence.
The people in here are a little too trusting, if y'know what I mean. Out there they're all hackles raised and skeptical and shit, which sucks for us, but. That's normal.
[ Shrugs. ]
Ain't really been giving it too much thought, but. Now that I do think about it. It's a little weird.
You should see the icons under Tseng's bed. OH YEEEAH.bravoalphamikeJune 30 2010, 04:30:38 UTC
It's more than a little weird. They're teaching us how to fight for them. [ Tseng is wandering around a little, checking under parked cars and such. The look on his face means that if he finds an eavesdropper now, he'll make them wish they'd booked instead. ] More than that, if there's such a vast difference between the natives and how they treat us, then there has to be something going on.
You're getting that vibe too, huh? [ Taking Tseng's lead, Reno makes rounds around his lot too. (Yep, he considers the place his now.) He checks all the good hiding spots before circling back, this time sitting on the hood of a car. ]
Seems weird that they'd trust us to fight for them when they don't know a thing about us.
[ Finally, the vehicle was free from Tseng's scrutiny. You could almost see it sigh in relief. ]
I assume that you've met a lot of the people here. Plenty of other 'misplaced' must have the same questions that I do. Have the Garden's superiors addressed any of those concerns publicly?
Everyone else so far's just been playing the game same as me. Most of 'em have... assimilated pretty well. Joining clubs and shit, gettin' all their homework done in time.
Ain't been much in the way of unrest, and so there ain't been any concerns to address.
...aw, man. But I haven't gotten a thing done on time all quarter! Wouldn't it be more suspicious to start behaving now? [ Reno's hoping his backwards logic'll actually get Tseng this time, because hey. It makes a strange sort of sense. ]

But no Midgar. [ That means no ShinRa, which means that Tseng is going to have to play along with the Garden sponsors. ] How are they treating you?

[ Tseng eyes the inside of a humvee. It's no small wonder that the reflection of his glare in the glass doesn't turn Tseng to stone. ]
They're kidnapping Turks one-by-one. I doubt that's a funny coincidence.

But what're you thinking? [ Reno'd always thought something was fishy, but. It's seeming like Tseng's taking it a lot more seriously than him. ]

That just means that you'll have to get your homework done on time too. We can't afford to attract any attention here.
