[Quistis had just grabbed a salad to go and was heading towards the exit of the cafeteria when she notices a female sitting alone, looking rather lost in thought. Pausing her strides, Quistis gives the girl a slightly sympathetic look. Perhaps she's one of the displaced cadets?]

Are you alright?

[ There's a slight jump -- Ashe hadn't been expecting people to actually stop and talk to her. She blinks up at the blonde woman, and begans to gather her dishes, shaking her head slightly. ]

I am unused to this place, and brought here against my will. I worry for my Kingdom back home.

[whiplashings]

[Quistis nods, giving the other woman a sympathetic look.]

It's understandable, and indeed an unfortunate turn of events. I'm sorry that you were forced into our world-- but hopefully the effects of the Time Compression will be reversed soon enough.

[ There's a small, hopeful look in Ashe's eyes as she looks up at Quistis. ] Is there anything I may do in order to aid the necessary research into finding a way home?

[ Ashe whirls around and stands, her eyes wide. ] Balthier-- You--

[ Ashe grimaces and wrenches her hand free from his, narrowing her eyes. ] I see no reason to greet the dead.

[Rise notices Ashe on her way out of the dining hall.]

Something wrong? Are you, uh, homesick?

[ Ashe looks up and frowns at the girl, shaking her head slightly. ] I merely worry for my people.

Your people...? You're in the government or something?

[Rise sits down next to her, her expression sympathetic.]

[ She nods as she watches Rise sit, smiling a little sadly. ] That would be one way of describing it, yes.

You are right, in that. [ She smiles a little up at him as she stands. ] To sit around and allow myself to feel sorry for what has been wrought.. I am a fool.

[ In passing by the hall leading down to the dining hall, Squall glances over and pauses. He's still pretty far from the entrance but he can still make out the empty plate and tray. With her hands to her chest, he can't help but wonder if something's really wrong. So. He sighs to himself and makes his way to where she's sitting. ]

[ Ashe looks up at him, and tenses slightly -- she hadn't meant to come across as in need of anything! A slow shake of her head, and she stands. ] No, I am fine. I thank you for your concern.

[ He watches her stand and then looks around before looking back to her. ] ...You need anything? Directions?

I've all the necessary directions I need. What I wish for is a way home.
