[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the Ballroom cheerily decorated located on the second floor

[Raine hasn't been to something so fancy. It had taken some time, but she'd found something to wear eventually, and then she had gone. Why not? she needs a break, too, even if Laguna isn't here to be her dance partner. Might as well mingle. And she looks quite lovely, it seems. Currently, she can be found mingling.]

[Raine may hear the click of high heels coming up behind her.]

Love the dress! [Though Sharpay thinks it a bit matronly for her to ever wear herself, she does think it suits Raine, and she's fascinated by the shawly drapey element to it.

[Sharpay herself is a little toned down for Sharpay: Black dress with a red belt and gold heels, nothing particularly sparkly; the colors are a nod to the new SeeDs without taking attention away from them.]

[Raine will turn to Sharpay, giving a little greeting nod.]

Thank you. You look nice, as well.

[She's still not entirely used to this. She's a small-town kind of girl, and the formality is a bit uncomfortable. That's likely showing.]

How long have you been around Garden? I don't think I've seen you at these before.

[Ugh...these uniforms are ugly! But Grell goes with the flow. She wears her hair in a high ponytail with her newest SeeD uniform is a huge step up from the cadet one, though. She spruced it up with a pair of red pumps.

Finally becoming a SeeD, she looks at the doors to the ballroom, flattening invisible wrinkles. Yes, the Grell Sutcliff is a bit nervous, but she's not surprised she passed!

The doors are pushed open by slender hands with red painted nails as she makes her grand entrance.]

[Rikku herself is wearing a pretty green dress and she practically flies over when Grell walks in]

Congratulations!

Hi~! [GRINS] Thanks, sweetie! [She stretches in place, looking so smug.] No more awful classes to take!

Lucky! Are you going to teach now, or just hang around and be lazy with the fiancé?

[He really couldn't believe that he made it. An actual SeeD! All the hard work he put into really did pay off. As happy as Gakupo is, he's still concerned about the future of the GFC. Will Mikuru take his spot? He really hopes so. There is so much potential in her that could really benefit everyone there.

As he pours himself some punch, he's lost in his thoughts. Thus, the punch is overflowing from his cup and over his hand. He doesn't notice.]

[Bulla's approaching the table to get herself some punch when she notices what's happening.]

Um, Gakupo? Are you all right?

[Suddenly he realizes his hand is covered in punch! He sets down the cup and cleans up the mess.]

Ah, yes, just...in a daze. [Nervous smile.] This is real, right?

[She smiles and chuckles softly at that.]

Even if it seems a little surreal, still. Have you figured out what's happening to the Garden Festival Committee yet?

[Rikku's here mostly for Grell. Grell was one of her first friends here and she's graduating.

Also she got a new dress and she wanted to wear it. Right now, she's bopping to the music in the corner, waiting.]

[Zephyr sidles into the ballroom, looking terribly uncomfortable in his black-tie attire, and when he spots Rikku, he wanders over, hands in his pockets. He greets her with a slight tilt of the chin.]

Hey. Enjoying yourself?

As much as I can! [She grins] You look good!

Oh, uh. Thanks. [He looks away for a moment before turning his attention back on her.] You look real nice, too.

Bright colors suit you.

[Her second ever SeeD ball and this time it's partially in her honor. Who would have seen that coming? It's a great feeling though to know that she's come so far and achieved so much. Anyone watching her walk might notice that it practically looks like someone had used float on her when she wasn't paying attention. That's right, she's practically on Cloud Nine at the moment.]

[Over social girl that she is, those who know her will bee surprised to find that she's currently playing wallflower with a flute of celebratory punch in one hand. Maybe it's silly, but it feels right to stand where Squall was standing the night she met him. She'll probably wander off later, but for now she's going to bask in her accomplishments and people watch. All while subtly trying to find her friends.]

[Also? She totally loves her new uniform. She feels so official right now.]

[Bulla may be a freshly graduated SeeD, but that doesn't mean she's going to let herself become so professional that she forgets to have fun. Although she's not as fond of her new uniform as Rinoa is, she does like it much better than the cadet uniform. It's more elegant, at least. As long as she doesn't have to take on missions while wearing it. A skirt like this one is less than ideal for a martial arts specialist.

She sneaks up behind Rinoa and puts her hands over her friend's eyes. At first she doesn't speak, to see if Rinoa will guess who it is. Not that the height won't be a very strong hint. There aren't many people who are noticably shorter than Rinoa who would also be wearing the SeeD uniform.]

[Rinoa without fun in her life? It's a scary thought and something that's never ever going to happen. Though just think about it! For now they have all this free time! They can go shopping during the weekdays sometimes! All the endless possibilities just stretching out for them! Well when she's not working on getting her teaching stuff done anyway. If it's not one thing it's another.]

[The height is a good guess and the hands themselves are a nice hint too. It's not like Bulla not to take good care of her hands after all. The uniform helps too. Which is why she smiles and laughs a little bit.]

Are you going to let go now so I can see how you look in you new uniform Bulla?

[Bulla uses hand lotion and files down her nails, but there are a certain amount of bruises and calluses that have built up on them, particularly in the last year and few months. She pulls her hands away and steps in front of Rinoa.]

I didn't think you'd guess that quickly. The uniform looks good on you.
