It's been quite awhile, Garden. This time, I pose a new question to you: why is it you treasure peace so much and yet willingly forego negotiation without a thought unless it could benefit you in the long run? Do you humans believe your own ideals so superior that you must battle to prove so ( Read more... )

There are many species that can be considered barbaric, but humans also have the capacity for understanding and compromise. There are those who fight each other viciously and yet still are willing to find the road to peace for the good of their people.

It may be in human nature to fight, but it is also in their nature to want more than a lifetime of war.

And yet they have killed one another over something as simple as jealousy or greed--over mere scraps when they do not truly want.

I would not disagree, but not all humans act in that way. To claim the acts of some are the same for all is a grave generalization.

Humans aren't perfect, but sometimes there's things you can't reason with who's only condition is 'complete destruction'.

What about those who have murdered simply for disliking someone? Or out of envy? I'd hardly call that a reason.

I never said all humans were perfect. There's plenty enough who are bastards, sure. But there's people who'll try and make things not quite as bleak as you think.

Most of those "barbaric" people have at least outgrown playing with their food.

[ She considers a taunt like that to supposed "prey" is barbaric in itself, a petty attempt to stir up fear and unease. Not too happy. ]

Peace isn't the only thing that's treasured. Most battles aren't just about ideals, either.

I suppose not. And yet, it seems so easy for you humans to kill your own over mere scraps.

And people will also risk their lives for each other, for no gain at all. There's both selfishness and selflessness.

Hardly, I am simply curious about the nature of humans.

Though, how do you explain those who manage to survive and are in fact chosen over those more capable, thus tainting the gene pool? It would seem more that this is "survival of the barely fit."
