[Normally Fang didn't eat in the cafeteria, especially now that there was an actual town nearby, but apparently today was an exception. Not that she was easy to spot; she'd taken a table waaaay in the back, hopefully away from prying eyes since she certainly wasn't aiming to be seen.
Easier said than done. How did you try to hide when you were

Not that she's all that hard to recognize, though you... now kind of have to know what you're looking for, first. Has Vanille happened to mention how her most beloved instructor has taken to wearing a hooded cloak even inside yet? If not, well... there's Claire sitting a short distance away anyway, and there's the hood, shadowing most of her face, with only the very edges of her pale pink hair showing.... ]

...Well, maybe not, considering she's gotten more control of this Blizzard spell as well. She happens to glance up at just the right moment, wondering in the back of her mind how quickly she could put a stop to the Fire spell if it happened to get out of control - but she spotted someone staring at her.
At least, she thought the person was looking at her. The hood made it hard to tell. It was only when Fang spotted the hair - a stark contrast to the hood - that she smirked a little, trying not to show how difficult it was for her to call of the flame she'd conjured.]
You got somethin' to say, Instructor, or what?

Frankly, if some other idiot hadn't already firmly planted himself in it, it's safe to say that the place of the person she dislikes the most would probably go to Fang. In a weird way, though, the Pulsian is also the most familiar to her-- or what Claire thinks should be familiar. She's the only one who seems outright unfriendly and willing to push back.
Despite what's probably best, Claire's compelled to respond in turn, her voice low. ]
I'm surprised.

Well, everyone on Gran Pulse, anyway.]
Surprised? About what, exactly?

He doesn't recall her having the ability to use elemental magic, but it's not exactly that that troubles him. Fang has never, on any occasion, shown any signs--to him, at least--of having trouble with controlling her powers. So... Why does it seem like she may have accidentally set something on fire?
In any case, Cid heads over, curious to see what's going on.]

Fang noticed Cid's shadow before the man himself and cursed under her breath, putting out the flaming hot dog with a shaky Blizzard spell. At least, she kept calling it Blizzard, but that felt different too. It annoyed her that this frustrated her so damn much.]

May I ask what you're doing?
[There isn't an accusatory tone to his voice, but he does sound... a little curious. Fang very well may be testing out some new Ravager abilities--or so he hopes. Why she's trying them out on hot dogs instead of grats, he's not entirely sure...]

Heh. What's it look like I'm doing?
[Apparently losing control of this newfound...fire thing, since a burst of flame escapes her and tries to set the edge of the table on fire. A quick Blizzard takes care of that.]
