001 ☠ action | Fisherman's Horizon

[After a few days of being stuck in this world, Joe hadn't found much out other than what was obvious. For the most part, he and Marvelous dug up the same information, which wasn't much to go on anyway. What was clear was that they were in a school, and a military school at that. Authority, structure... neither he nor Marvelous did well with that. ( Read more... )

[It had been weeks since he has had any vivid dreams like the one he finds himself waking up from in cold sweat. He shivers even though he's terribly hot from the covers and unexpected visitor- Alma had found his way to his bed again.
Not wishing to wake up the other boy, he slips out of bed only to notice it was too bloody early. Knowing he wouldn't reconcile sleep, Yuu washed his face, and made a quick change of clothes before leaving his quarters.

The morning air would help him clear his mind- that is until he heard someone training from afar. Curious, the boy made his way silently to the direction of the heated battle cry and the song of blades cutting through air.

Mesmerized by the precise movements of the swordsman, Yuu stood a good distance away just to watch.]

[His movements were almost like a dance he had practiced many times over-- and they were. It was serene to him in some way-- helped get his mind off of things. Calming. He really didn't care what it looked like to anyone else.

His body straightened as he finished his final cut through the air, his long hair falling across his face.

Eyes focused ahead of him, Joe noticed the little boy looking at him-- no, staring at him.]

What?

[Yuu blinked at the swordsman's question. It didn't seem to bother the boy that he had been caught looking at the other one practice, not like it would someone with more tact.]

Hm? [Honestly and utterly confused by the man's question, the boy keeps staring, not very bothered nor concerned if he had annoyed the other.
His eyes, however, trail down to the twin blades.]

Who taught you?

A very talented swordsman.

[It wasn't a memory Joe wanted to talk about. It was a very touchy subject, actually. That was long ago-- before he joined up with Marvelous.

But he was thankful for it. Sid had taught him all he knew about being a swordsman. Most of the moves he knew were from him. Not that he hadn't grown as into a skilled swordsman by himself. Fighting alongside his crewmates helped as well.]

Knew you would be out here.

[Marvelous tended to ignore the wake up call in favour of sleep so when he finally did emerge from bed, he noticed his sabre and his first mate were gone. But that didn't surprise him. Despite Joe no longer being military, he still did have a sense of routine and discipline when it came to training.]

[Sometimes, Joe was so focused on training that he lost track of time. It was obvious the sun had fully risen, but the fact that his captain was here now... it was probably later than he thought. It had been a while since he had ushered Kanda off to go to class. As much as he actually liked helping the kid, he was glad to be able to concentrate on his own routine again.

Hearing Marvelous' voice from behind him, Joe still didn't miss a beat. He finished his sequence of movement and turned to face him.]

What time is it?

About nine. [He may not be an early morning person but he could still wake up before noon. Enough time to head to the cafeteria in the Garden and eat his fill.

And also grab a few things for his first mate who, if he was training early, likely skipped out on eating. Approaching Joe, Marvelous held up a bag of various breads and sandwiches.]

They didn't have chicken wings.

[So he had been out there for at least three hours.

He tossed Marvelous his sabre and eyed the bag of food he brought with him. That... was a lot of food. Joe concluded that most of the food was probably for Marvelous, since they were without a cook... and a ship.

As far as the comment on the chicken wings, Joe chuckled. Of course. There were never any chicken wings.]

Find out anything interesting while you were there?

[Early morning was the absolutely best time to fly -- at least, in Botan's mind it was. Everything was awakening and felt fresh, alive, rejuvenated. It gave her a moment to really awaken and start the day off right. Not to mention how could she resist the wonderful sea breezes?

Flying about, she passed a clearing and saw a glint of ... something. Swooping down low upon her enchanted oar, she came close for further inspection.]

I had to give you the visual. It's very pertinent to this post. xDD loyalfirst August 22 2011, 01:48:15 UTC
[Joe was still practicing his technique. To most people, it looked like he was sparring with an imaginary partner. For the most part, he was, but there was an artistry about it. There was grace, and noticeable power behind each swipe through the air.

As he stopped to take a break, he felt eyes on him and turned around.

There was no one there... but looking up, there was someone floating above him. He was a bit surprised-- she was floating on an oar, of all things.]

[Botan watched with interest. Each movement was precise, graceful, powerful, beautiful. It was intriguing to watch and reminiscent of back home in so many ways.

She had no intention of interrupting, but he had noticed her. Smiling, she gave a small wave and flew in closer.]

Hello, there. Quite a technique you have~

Isn't it? This is why I really must find a sakura tree to have him practice under. c: loyalfirst August 23 2011, 01:08:00 UTC
[This was the second person to drop in on him. Next time, he would have to find somewhere else. At least they were smart enough not to interrupt him.

When the person floating on the oar spoke, Joe just gave her a grin and looked away.]

It's nothing. I was just practicing.

[He's so modest.]
