[Cid was, in all truth and honesty, not an usual visitor to the training center. He took no real pleasure from killing the monsters here, as it tended to only remind him of the brand he bore; Cid far preferred other methods of training, methods that didn't involve magic and the like

Heh, if the beast was a little shorter, you'd both be eye-to-eye.

Are you suggesting I have a staring contest with this beast?

[Not that they weren't doing the same thing right here, watching the invisible counter clock down. Doooooom.]

[He throws another dazega at the monster.]
However, you are more than welcome to finish it off, if you'd rather see a quicker end.

And no, she does not look like a happy camper- she's tired, stressed, angry... and he has already gotten to the monster she'd been planning on taking out herself. Considering the somewhat unwieldy-looking, large-caliber rifle she's carrying with her, this is probably obvious - you don't usually hunt grats with a weapon that would very likely outright tear apart two or more of the things in one shot. ]

He throws another dazega on the beast before focusing his attention on her once more. His tone is painfully formal.]
Lieutenant.

Sir.
[ Painfully formal right back at him, though it's probably odd that she's still clinging to it despite the clear distrust and perhaps even hate that's contained in her stare and body language.
Odder still that although she definitely recognizes that upper-level daze spell there, if there are any ways to recognize a doom spell, she doesn't know them-- something that's strikingly unusual if you think about it, considering what she's supposed to do. Killing fellow l'Cie would be a lot more simple if she herself had access to that... though obviously, it's not like she's aware of the fact herself.
... Aside from that single word, she says nothing else though, just standing there with her chin down, gaze alternating between man and monster. ]

[He glances briefly at the monster.]
Do it quickly.
[Cid doesn't bother to offer any additional explanation. He assumes, incorrectly, that she, too, must have access to this ability, and that his vague remarks are enough to cue her in to its use.
With his piece said, Cid steps aside to allow her room to fight. The thing will be dead soon enough; he won't be bothering to hit it with another dazega if it should wake again.]

Several defeated beasties later Rygdea decides it's time to head back. And then he spots Cid Raines facing down a T-Rexaur.
He approaches the man, slapping him on the back.]
Need a hand?

Captain. I had not expected to see you here.
[He throws another dazega at the monster. There's no point in him hiding his abilities from Rygdea now, seeing as he'd clued the other in on his secret.]
I appreciate the offer, but it shall be dead soon enough.

[Having powers, even at the cost of being a l'Cie, did look pretty handy. Rygdea shouldered his rifle and took a few steps back.]
Gotta say I'm pretty surprised to see you out here, Raines.

It does seem to be more your type of activity, I suppose. I had hoped to come here to clear my mind though--not that this plan has been working all that well.
[He turns his attention back to the dinosaur; it should be dead right... about now. And just like that, the beast keels over with a crash. Cid looks over at Rygdea.]
You appear to be in better spirits.

He skids to a stop in a half crouch upon seeing a familiar face. The T-Rexaur looks really worse for wear.]
'Just what is he doing? Or not doing.'
[After a brief moment, Shadow stands up straight before addressing the other.]
Cid.

What a surprise to see you here.
[And looking like that, no less.]

I had come in hopes of clearing my mind, but it would seem that I have failed in that attempt. [A pause.] Have you... been well?
[Cid has no intention of asking directly about the change into a human, but if Shadow wants to talk about it, that's his invitation.]
