[With Hyperion rested up against the edge of the bench, Seifer's got his legs spread like a man seated all casual like and like he doesn't give an eff, a random weapon's magazine in hand. He's doing some random reading on gunblades, or at least what's changed in the past twenty years. He wants to know if they've become lighter, faster - not that ( Read more... )

[ Kiden strolls up behind, leaning against the back of the bench and glancing down Seifer's chest at the open magazine page. Shame? Tact? Personal space? What are those? ]

You know, I never got the whole 'blade-attached-to-a-gun' thing. Figure if you got a gun, why the hell would you need a sword?

Why the hell would I need that thing they call 'personal space'?

[Although Seifer doesn't exactly move away, nope. He stays where he is, flips a page, looks around the area for those little troublemakers.]

I dunno, man. Been wondering about that one, too.

[ Smirks, and, because she can, lightly taps her cigarette to send ash down onto his jacket. ]

[His brow twitches at the ash that slides on down his coat.]

You certainly don't seem to need it.

[Seifer reaches up to go and nab the smoke out of her fingers; if successful, he's going to flick the cigarette away.]

[ Probably after a last conversation like the one they had had (in person), someone with a shred of common sense would stay away from the person who had ended up ticking them off. (Un)fortunately for Seifer, Vanille got over things easily- maybe even a little too easily- because approaching him seems like a totally normal good idea. She hasn't forgotten, but...

She's determined to make friends, okay? Even if it's with difficult people like him. She moves over and stops in front of him, hands on her hips, bending forward at the waist. ]

It's such a nice day out, and you're wasting it!

[ Well, he gets points for being outside, but, still. Reading? Yawn! ]

[Only those bright cyan blue eyes of his lift - THEY'RE ON A LOVELY LEVEL WITH HER BREASTS APPARENTLY ... which he eyes for a moment before glancing up at her and then back down to his magazine.]

You're blockin' my light.

[ He is so lucky she hates wearing her cadet uniform, otherwise there wouldn't be much to see. ]

Ah- sorry! [ She hops aside... Only to take a seat beside him. ]

What are you reading?

Might be a little too sophisticated for you.

[Seifer turns the page, taps the edge of the magazine with a finger.]

[She glances by as she passes, stops, then backs up.] Oh, is that the new issue?

...It might be.

Anything new about gunblades?

[She might be trying to catch a peek over the top of the magazine.]

I saw the Vanishing Star model the other day in the Training Center, I didn't even know they were making new versions! With a second trigger in the grip no less.

Triggers're mostly useless. Unless you got some strong artillery attached to your blade, you won't be doin' much damage.

[Was walking past, totally intending to not even spare Seifer a second glance when he spots Hyperion propped up against the bench. He had seen Gunblades since arriving at the Garden, but they didn't make them any less ridiculous to the young assassin. However, he also couldn't deny the visual appeal of such a thing. And that was a nice weapon. Clearly cared for.

His attention switched from the gunblade to the magazine and he stops.]

They offer magazines here?

[Seifer can spot a troublemaker from many many many miles away. Seems there's one right in front of him. He quirks a brow, but that's all he'll give him.]

They might have somethin' in the kids section if you asked nice enough.

[Makes a face.] I may be young, but I am not interested in whatever selection of drivel they provide children here.

[Well, speak of the devil. Quistis had figured it was too nice of a day to stay cooped up in her office and instead brought all of her paperwork outside into the courtyard to work on. Luckily one of the benches was open when she first scanned her eyes in search of a place to settle down; her eyes hadn't yet caught Seifer lounging out on a bench hidden behind a large tree.

Waving to several cadets she recognized, she settled herself onto the bench, pulling out a folder and pen to get down to work.]

[Quistis... you can't hide from him. He knows good legs when he sees 'em and she has, by far, the nicest set. He wasn't lying, Marco! Not that Seifer cares for her legs...

She's not hard to miss either, Seifer spots her immediately from over top of his magazine and gives her a shifty eye look, watching her from the corner of his eye as she goes to the bench across from him some ways away.

Sure there's all this foliage there to block him from her view... but now that Seifer's seen her...

The blond-haired male waits in silence a moment longer, thinking back on the Homecoming announcement. Typical.]

[So focused on her paperwork, Quistis doesn't even look up from the pile of papers in her lap after she starts. She simply goes through the stack, pausing every now and then to let her eyes read over a paragraph or two; she would even tap the end of her pen against her temple or her lip when in a particularly deep train of thought.

She's more or less tuned out the people around her, only glancing up every now and then for a smile or wave if someone were to call her name.]

[Yeah, Seifer is just going to watch her from his vantage point, his gaze hooded and quietly scrutinizing. He watches how she plays with her pen against her lip and temple, how she looks so lost in thought. She seems only to come 'awake' whenever someone addresses her in passing.

He narrows his eyes, scowls to himself, and hates himself as he shoves off his bench and strolls on over to her.]

Leonhart keepin' you busy, huh?

[Casually, as if it's his place to, he plops down on the bench next to her, arm thrown along the top behind her shoulders, Hyperion next to him.]
