[If anyone were to walk past the Home Economics room, they might be able to catch the faint scent of something burning. It is, in fact, M'gann's first batch of cookies which have suffered a most unfortunate fate. Despite having mastered the recipe of chocolate chip cookies, M'gann isn't exactly in the right state of mind at the moment, her mind too

[Huh? Something burning? Cissie immediately peeks in, leaning forward and resting her hands on the doorframe so that she could gain a better look.]

Megan? You alright?

[M'gann has the grace to look embarrassed as she turns to the door, recognizing Cissie.]

Just a small case of burnt cookies. Everything is okay, though!

If you're sure. [She walks in, casually sitting on one of the barstools as she watches M'gann. It doesn't seem like baking'd be that hard... but what does she know? Cissie goes ahead and even rests her elbows on the table.]

Be careful with this batch! I'm sure it'll come out better than the last one, though...

[M'gann smiles.] Thanks. Would you like some cookies when I'm done baking? They shouldn't take too long in the oven.

[As he made his way down one of the many halls, investigating this still-new place, he caught scent of something he had never in his short life known before. He doesn't know if it's unpleasant or strange but it did smell a bit sweet- which he didn't like in particular.
Following his nose, Yuu reaches the source. He carefully places both hands on the door frame and leans to peak over and catch a glimpse of... a peculiar-looking girl.]

[So busy in her mixing and distracted with her thoughts, the extra effort to keep her disguise must have slipped her mind; she hadn't even realized that her skin had momentarily changed back to a shade of green until she finally focused her attention back onto the bowl in her hand. Luckily no one was in the room to catch the minor blip and she seamlessly changed her skin back to a rosy shade of peach. Satisfied, she return to the task at mixing up the dough for her next batch of cookies.]

What are you doing?

[He steps right in, completely uninvited and oblivious about it.]

It smells strange.

[The person suddenly speaking behind her from the door surprises M'gann so much that she practically drops her bowl, but thankfully she catches it before it can hit the ground (there might have been a touch of telekinesis helping here there.) She spins around to see who is addressing her, and not recognizing the male she hesitates before answering.]

I'm... I'm baking cookies. I burnt the first batch though, which might be what the smell is.

[... He didn't catch her shapeshifting, did he?]

[Since it's only roughly been a day since the gossip BBS had gone up, any avoidance M'gann had attempted to do had been lost on Conner. He had been left unsure and confused even of the 'news' about M'gann; they were friends, she had made the cupcakes and baked goodies for everyone and not just him. It was something he had refused to believe... and even now, still he refuses. It just seems too far-fetched despite the 'moments' they had shared in Bialya and in the Cave

[Done with her mixture, M'gann switches utensils from a spatula to two spoons to scoop up just the right amount of cookie dough balls onto the cookie sheet. So concentrated in the process that M'gann didn't notice Connor enter the room despite the 'whoosh' of the door. She had just scooped up a bit of dough, forming it between two spoon when she absentmindedly turns to the door-- it's not until then does she spot Connor and she practically drops everything.

Ohnoohnoohnoohno. This was exactly why she had taken to baking that afternoon, to avoid this! Her eyes wide and unsure for a brief moment, M'gann tries to regain her composure, giving Connor a friendly smile.]

Hi, Connor! I burnt my first batch of cookies again-- kind of reminds me of the first time I baked in the cave, do you remember? When I showed you all the Bioship and everything. I wonder what the rest of the Team could be doing-- it's been weeks since we've last seen them...

[Yes, she was falling into her habit of rambling when nervous. Maybe, just maybe he didn't see

[Conner on the other hand just blinks at her, then furrows his brows and then lifts one when everything seems to ... drop. He immediately picks up on how she rambles and keeps on talking, not stopping, and stays where he is tilting his head.]

I do remember, yes. And I also remember the time after when you covered me in all of your baking ingredients-- are you all right?

[Her smile can't fool him. But if she says she's peachy, he'd believe her.]

Me? Oh, I'm fine! [Thankfully she managed to catch everything before they hit the ground. She deposits the little ball of dough onto the cookie sheet, her back turned to him momentarily.]

I'm just a little sad that I burned the first batch of cookies. I thought I was getting good at making them, but I guess I had a little slip up! Hopefully this next batch will be better.

Let's ignore the fact that I'm late >.>

[If there was something burning, that usually meant the first signs of trouble. Tim was more used to fires in buildings, or fires from bombs, or fires from... well. He was more used to something a little worse then burnt cookies, but in walking by the Home Ec room, he couldn't help but look in.

And it was that girl that Bart had told him about, Megan. There was that whole gossip thing, but he wanted to meet her anyway.]

You know, birds will still eat burnt cookies, so if anything, you've helped give them a treat.

[Maybe he'll be able to do that with slightly less fail next time.]

[The voice startles her, and M'gann turns to greet the stranger. She takes in his words and her posture visibly relaxes as she offers him a small smile.]

They do? I'll be sure to try and feed some in the courtyard, then! I'm glad they won't be wasted.

Yeah, they do. Birds will eat almost anything, so it's perfect for any mishaps in the kitchen.

[Smiles in return and comes a little closer.]

[She doesn't mind the company at all, and starts to slowly begin mixing the chocolate chips into the dough again]

Did the burnt smell draw you in? I guess I should've opened a window...
