[The solid walls and thick ceilings are a bit much for someone unused to them; even windows aren't much help, especially when they're glazed

[Katsura would have laughed right about then, but she's just gotten a sense of the troll's age, close-up--and this is not the Vol'jin she knows from Orgrimmar. She doesn't quite falter, but she does change what she was about to say.]
I suppose it's a human thing. Are you settling in well, then?
I doubt you are. Still, they're trouble. [Her eyes narrow. It's just a suspicion, she's not going to call him out. Yet.]
Here's the entrance, as you can see. [She gestures to the door, and the leafy green plants that brush against it from within. From the growls and other sounds, clearly the Training Center is chock full of...well, goodness isn't the proper word, but training probably is.]
You'll be seeing the inside of this soon enough, as I like getting my class in here sooner rather than later.
Dat be a good ting... ya can only do so much trainin' witout a real fight. [ And it sounds more like home in there than it does in the rest of the Garden, anyway.]
Ya sound like ya be a good teacher, Katsura. [Oh, he's totally innocent. See this big, charming smile? And he only tripped over the elvish name a tiny bit.]
I do try. I was more of a warrior back on Azeroth. It's nice to know that I can reach outside my comfort zone.
[Not that she's utterly immune to flattery. But she does turn away from the doors.]
Do you know where the cafeteria is yet? I'm not sure how familiar the food here will be to you, but I assure you, it's all edible.
[Well, maybe a bit less so to a troll, but he might be able to find a couple things in the Center eventually that are edible, to take advantage of the kill-and-eat thing.]
[That would be because he's never seen a ravager. And oh decisions... but truthfulness is probably best for now; he wants to stay on her good side so that she won't kick him out of classes he doesn't belong in. According to the school.]
Ya, I been dere... Don' much care for it, so I be comin' outside to look at all da paper dey give me.
Do you think having more plants in your room would make it feel more like home? I'm sure there are ways to get the windows open, as well.
[In truth, so long as he had no other place he had to be and wasn't making trouble, Kat probably wouldn't kick Vol'jin out. Unless someone told her she had to. Nor would she be pleased to do so.]
As for the ravager dogs, if you have the opportunity, pass. It is not delicious.
[He shrugs, waving the idea away; opening the windows and bringing a couple plants inside isn't going to make the Garden feel anything at all like home.]
Change be someting dat comes all da time... ya gotta go wit it or ya be lost. Da trick be endurin' it witout changin' too much of ya soul. I figure it out sooner or later.
And I be rememberin' dat about da dogs. [A sideways glance and a grin; he's not all philosophy all the time.] Maybe ya help me find someting a little tastier...
[Her eyebrows arched at that. Kat isn't sure if she ought to smile or frown, because her brain has just broken a little at that last statement.]
Well, there's usually something to be found. Something they call "hot dogs" are popular--and I have tried them, they do not taste like ravager dogs. Sunwell be praised.
And I admit I am concerned because I would prefer you not getting in trouble with an instructor who is a stickler for enforcing curfew, as an example.
[He laughs a bit at her expression.] I already tell ya not to worry about Vol'jin... but if ya so concerned, ya could tell me who to be watchin' out for.
Vriska Serket is one I can think of. [Not that Katsura didn't like the female troll's sense of duty, on one hand, but--the elf didn't feel as if one had to get cadets in trouble. Not every cadet caught after curfew was intending to cause mischief--at least in Kat's mind.]
I'm not certain who else, that was just the name that came immediately to mind. [She furrowed her brows. Well, if she thought of anyone else, it isn't as if she's unlikely to tell him.]
Dat so? I keep an eye out for dis Vriska, den... if I be needin' to go somewhere late.
[Which might well happen; if there was no danger in the Garden as everyone seemed to keep telling him, why insist that people had to stay inside at night? Must be a human thing.]
I should be t'ankin ya for all da help ya give me.

The strongest beast around these parts, but there's not too many of them around, luckily. Otherwise we might actually lose adventurous cadets.

Don' worry, I don' tink I be like most of da cadets. [Grin. Not that he knows ...well, any of them, really.]

Haven't been dere yet. Ya mind showin' me da way?
[ Prediction of human food after seeing human houses and human clothes: not good.]

[She'll point out other places of interest along the way, as well.]
Have you found your room yet?

You're welcome, though. I remember how it was my first few weeks here. Awkward.
