Wah, scary!

I don't know how I feel about spiritual or supernatural things after a weird sort of thing wherein I almost joined a cult by accident (it's a long story), but either way, this just sends chills down my spine. Brr. At least the Wikipedia entry you linked to doesn't mention any White Ladies in Japan, although we have our fair share of creepy ghosts and I have more than my fare share of charms from the local shrines to ward off any bad luck, hopefully including malevolent spirits.

I have studied ghosts for years and that is why this one creeped me out so much. There are sooo many legends when it comes to this one. Many of them saying that if she is seen, someone will die. I really didn't want to "test that theory".

Girl, your country has so many legends and I would love to visit and immerse myself. One of the places I really want to visit is Aokigahara. I could spend several days walking around there.

I go "shrine hopping" often on the weekends, looking for Shinto shrines. They feel very alive, especially the smaller, hidden ones that aren't so famous to appear in guidebooks and stuff. (Sometimes it's like the magic gets rubbed off if too many people visit, or something.)

The ghost stories here are scary, too… Ugh, the woman with the cut face. I saw a lady wearing a sick mask (which is really common here) in the middle of the night once and I sprinted home. 99% chance she was just some woman walking home with hay fever, but like you with the White Lady, I didn't want to risk that 1%.

Ohh "shrine hopping". You should take pics of them. ♥ I can certainly see the famous shrines being "drained". That happens to a lot of famous haunting sites too. I'm really sensitive to these things and have found myself very disappointed when I go on ghost tours. Of course, that wasn't the case when I visited New Orleans. That whole city is just seeped in an energy that, apparently, even Katrina could not get rid of.

*Holic Love!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

ok. I'm good now.
