On the plus side.. you stood up for yourself, and kinda opened the eyes of a couple people in the family about certain other people's thoughts and behaviors.

Also remember.. you're saying "grandma" so I'm thinking this is someone old enough to still have the belief system that women shouldn't even BE educated at all. That they should stay at home and take care of the child and all that.
