[ History ] :
Here

[ Personality ] :
She wanted to be just like her mother so hard she even developed Soul Perception MAGICALLY to be like her.

No, I mean--

Maka was described as a serious person that tries hard, this is true to some extent but there's a lot more to Maka than being a serious overachiever although it is a big part of the bits of Maka. She does try hard with a lot of aspects in her life due to her want to be the best she can be and create a deathscythe more powerful than the one her mother created. She studies to get the best grades she can (and even finds the learning and testing parts fun) and she fights hard (though sometimes, sometimes rarely she realizes that she has to sit back and think for a moment before charging on ahead, letting your emotions ALWAYS get the better of you is not kosher).

Maka is not completely serious all the time, she's actually quite friendly to most people that don't appear to be out to cause trouble (much to the annoyance of her more cynical partner, Soul) and has a positive, confident attitude most of the time.

Sometimes she can be dorky and give cheesy FRIENDSHIP!!1! pep talks as shonen protagonists often do, too.

As a friend, Maka is as supportive as she can be given her limited view of some things and tendency to lose it with annoying ones like Black*Star and her habit of charging on ahead without really thinking. She--at this point--is aware that she won't always understand or get along with her friends as they are all individuals and understands this, but she still is deeply loyal and supports them. Maka's philosophy in life greatly centers on having courage and not pausing for a moment to consider the cons and let fear overtake you. Though she insists that having courage is nothing special because all people are capable of having courage grow from their fear.

However, there are less than desirable aspects to Maka as well. Actually, some things about her personality can get downright ugly when her emotions run high (and, subsequently, greatly upsets and throws her off making a bigger chance for boneheaded stunts to happen, much to the chagrin of Soul) or when something aggravates the various issues/complexes she has.

Though Maka is quite confident in her abilities and works hard to keep herself strong so she can protect her friends, she tends to become obsessive with perfecting things, making sure her friends are safe and getting the job done even through risking her own life (tackling an immortal werewolf off of London Bridge? Obviously a great idea). Sometimes she even loses her temper and becomes violent. Really violent. Though this anger is most often expressed through the use of a "Maka Chop" which is a smack on the head with the spine of a book she's carrying (which she is carrying constantly, Maka is a regular old bookworm that seems to know more about reading than...other hobbies. Besides word games). Although this violent rage is most often expressed towards her Weapon partner Soul when he bothers her, she's actually more prone to rolling her eyes or scoffing at things when irritated.

OH AND BY THE WAY, she has an inferiority complex, trust issues and is a misandrist. If you don't know that she's insecure, YOU WILL BE QUICKLY REMINDED. To avoid going into Maka's background territory, let's just say it's her dad's fault and move on. Surprisingly, the misandry doesn't come up as often as one would expect it to, even less so with the point she's from. On the downside, the insecurities from her inferiority complex do come up and they hit her hard.

Also she is a gigantic workaholic. Though this shows through positively with her grades...she takes studying far. Really far. Studying three months in advance for an exam, what.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

Strengths
→ Maka is an overachiever and very intelligent, so she's good at memorization and calling up information at a moment's notice.
→ Maka is very fast as well; due to her athleticism, she runs fast and has quick reflexes.
→ Maka can cook decently and is very neat and self-sufficient for her age.
→ She has a never-say-"die" attitude in that she essentially never says that she's afraid, she just goes on with the fight. Even if she is afraid, though, she still fights on. Her positivity and bravery really heeeelps sometimes.
→ Her intelligence and reflexes manifest into super-duper adaptability! Even without Soul, she's still willing to charge right into a fight sans weapon and fight it out with her fists and wits.
→ The end justifies the means and it's certainly that way with Maka. Make a deal with a Tim Burtonish devil thing and go insane to fight against Crona? Sure! Trust Medusa even if it's very clear to everyone except Maka she'll betray you? Why not! Anything to get it done properly.
→ Even if she does get stuck in a rut, though, she has a good cry or however she chooses to cope for a moment and then immediately fixes it or makes up for it. Productivity, yay!
→ BATON TWIRLING SKILLS! What do you mean that's not a strength. All right, with Soul her scythe buddy she can do a multitude of ridiculous things. These range from fighting to invoking the power of black blood (which she's protected from being permanently infected by because of the anti-demon wavelength in her soul. Yeah. Makes sense in context, really).
→ Also with her special Grigori soul seriously, Ohkubo, GRIGORI? and Soul's deathscythe abilities she can fly on him! :o

With the point she's from, though, she's not aware that she can do this or that she has a Grigori soul.

→ BTW: she can see SOULS. Her Soul Perception ability allows her to see the souls of others and get a read on their personality. (They show up like this.)

Weaknesses

→ Sometimes she's not very good at realizing the obvious when there's other things affecting her emotionally and clouding her judgment.
→ Despite her athleticism, she can't play basketball. She just cannot play basketball. It's not said if she feels the same about other sports, but if she doesn't know the rules she gets confused and can't adapt to it.
→ She gets...obsessed with things once her mind gets set on it and her stubbornness makes her stick to it hardcore. It takes (literally, at some points) a smack in the face to shake her out of it.
→ As said before, she has HUGE insecurities that manifest into issues with trust and just plain not being good enough.
→ She's not actually very physically strong. The only reason she can heft around Soul so well is because of their resonance. This feeds into her inferiority complex some more because boooooo she's not as strong as Black*Star or Kid :c
→ She hates to lose. Hates hates hates hates it.
→ About 85% of the time, note: statistic may be exaggerated though, she only has a problem she has to be proactive about because she has a bad temper and is STUBBORN STUBBORN STUBBORN.
→ Has thick ankles-wait-no she doesn't SHUT UP SOUL
→ Uh. See personality.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Um. She can't eat fish meat. Allergic to it, just plain hates it? Who knows.

Other than what's mentioned in the rest of the app, though, she's just a normal skinny little heroine.

[ Sample ] :

"This is it-the final soul."

Maka opened her mouth to reply, but found that her vision was very suddenly filled with blue...and her mouth filled with water. What is this? she thought, attempting to fight for the surface but finding that she was being dragged down. Before any sort of panic could set in that she was essentially drowning, Maka felt herself being pushed out of the water and onto a hard surface.

"Ow..." Maka rubbed her head and winced at how heavy her clothes had become, shrugging off the black jacket and making a motion to remove the sweatervest. "Soul-what happened? Is this some kind of-" She stopped when she realized she was alone and the environment around her had changed drastically. "Soul?"

Maka looked around at the city, which seemed alive but absent of anyone she actually knew. "Soul?" she tried calling again. Some-presumably the natives-looked her way and offered smiles before carrying on with their business, but none of them were Soul. "Where did that idiot go?" she grumbled before realizing next there was a blue light floating next to her. "And how did this soul get here?" It took her a moment to realize the blue light wasn't a soul at all, but a small fairy. Maka only tilted her head at it before sighing. "I don't suppose you can tell me where Soul is?"

The fairy didn't answer, which prompted Maka to put her face in her hands and shake her head. Before she could grumble to herself about unhelpful people some more, she realized that something very hard was in her left hand; a starfish-shaped device with what appeared to be a screen somehow ended up in her hands. She wasn't sure how it got there, maybe someone lost it and she happened to involuntarily pick it up. It's not like I could have stolen it, she thought before setting it down on the ground. A sudden chill reminded her that she was drenched and she should probably put something back on to cover up her decidedly white-and-now-transparent shirt.

However, when Maka bent down to retrieve her sweatervest, a black mark on her stomach caught her eye. "Oh, what now?" she groaned, looking around to make sure no one was watching before lifting up her shirt to see what was on her navel. Much to her horror, there was now a curious little mark that looked like a tattoo on her stomach.

It wouldn't come off when she rubbed it. It had a tribal-sort-of design. It was on one of the many places where girls got tattoos when they had too much to drink.

All of these factors lead up to complete meltdown for Maka Albarn.

"WHY--?! WHY DO I HAVE A TATTOO?!" she couldn't help but scream, throwing her sweatervest back on immediately to cover that up. "What happened? What's going on?!" What would Papa think about this?

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :
I'm concerned that y'all think I'm going to special it up with her in Vat rather than limiting it, but other than that no. =A=a
