[When Maka woke up and discovered how her appearance changed, she thought she was having some sort of dream.

Upon seeing how everyone else around her changed, though, she realized it was actually a living nightmare. Nice. She doesn't quite know how to respond to being turned into a troll, though; yell? Cry? Break things ( Read more... )

Oh?

[Kanaya peers in at the SFC's screen for a moment. Sure enough, this girl is an unfamiliar troll. So it seems the body changing was the newest curse, how... interestng.]

It depends on a few things, since we're a pretty varied bunch. You haven't discovered any new love of evisceration, or ability with psychokinesis?

...Not in particular. Is that...a thing with trolls?

Well, not for everyone. But a few of us have had... problems in the past. And culling was a pretty typical thing for our culture, though our group are more closely knit than that...

[Kanaya shut up and stop rambling. You are probably alarming the poor girl. Focus on the basics.]

No, not typically. I don't know enough about alien physiologies to know the differences to warn you about, I'm afraid. I know that a lot of the other species here seem to be less violent on average than trolls tend to be.

Terezi mentioned the culling thing...I guess all I'd have to watch out for now is accidentally killing my partner when I get mad at him.

...Although he is some kind of...pegasus...unicorn thing right now, so who knows.

[Wait. She just realized she's talking to a pony. And it mentioned quadrants.]

...Um. Karkat?

[It's okay, Maka. Your star god is here to save you.]

Don't go near the motherfuckin' ocean. That shit's straight up dangerous.

Aren't we already in the ocean?

So you're a troll and Soul's a pony. [This is Kim rolling her eyes. She looks pretty normal aside from the arrow tattoos on her body.] Does this place do these sorts of things normally or did we just luck out with this?

It seems like it's normal for things like this to happen here. I've heard people calling them curses?

Karkat said they only last for a week, though, so...there's that at least.

Karkles did, huh? Guess I can put up with this for a week. [She shrugs.] I'm not even sure what 'this' is. It's not as obvious as your being a troll.

You supposedly act annoying to people and bother them like mad. Also laughing. Laughing is part of your repertoire.

[Here, Maka, have another troll.]

I guess I'm not the only one that's turned into a troll.

...That's a really weird repertoire to have, though.

Nope. You're not alone in this whole business, don't worry.

Hey, trolls troll. It's what they do.

That is an overgeneralization. Only a few of us regularly engage in deliberate antagonism over these communication devices.

...But it is far more common for us to interrupt others' conversations and interject our opinions. Would that be included in your definition of trolling?
