What a beautiful literary "triptych" of Don!Angst. I think I can die and go to heaven now. *g* I especially loved this line: "In Don’s line of work, he’d learned weapons weren’t optional." One must choose one's weapons well. I love that your Don knows exactly what would work.

This was wonderful. Truly. That thing about Charlie hating th ecold and then finding out what happened, how he almost died? Wow.

Great flow in the storytelling. It jumps in time but it never feels abrupt.
