1. After dropping off two boxes of clothes donations at the women's shelter today, I felt the siren call of IKEA two blocks away. I am powerless to resist its song, even though I really don't need more stuff. I am also powerless against my addiction to reusable shopping bags, and IKEA has the absolute best shopping bags ever. ( More on my addiction. )

This morning I realized I signed up to follow you under my work account instead of my personal one, so I rectified that just now. Twitter is amazing. It really moves fast.

Am excited you might have more ficlets coming!!

Just added you back.

The other ficlets I've been playing with just aren't working out the way I want. I might save them for the BSG-only porn battle next week, and just repost the painting one here tonight. :)

Thanks to the news that Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of 24,

Dude, really? I had not heard this!

Yup! Here's the press release. Forget Jack -- the idea of her going toe-to-toe with Chloe is too hilarious to imagine. ;)

Need to finish the last 15 minutes of my current sock project so I can cast on a new one for Knit in Public Day! We plan on knitting in the park (if it is not raining) and then knitting while grabbing a beer at a local pub!

I spent most of my childhood designing floorplans for truly awesome buildings

Me too! I still have my ultimate dream house floor plan in some trunk or box somewhere in the house. It probably would fall down immediately if it were built to my horrible non-engineered specs!

Ooh, that sounds like an excellent Knit in Public Day. Before my friends and I settled on the preplanned event tomorrow, we'd talked about hitting a local Irish pub -- seems like the perfect place to knit. ;)

So can we call Sackhoff "FRAK BAUER" when snarking on 24? XD

Apparently so. :)

I caught a rerun of the Clint Eastwood episode of Inside the Actor's Studio, and Bradley Cooper was in the audience. :) I knew he was a student there (and he shows similar Actors Studio clips of himself when he was on SNL) but it still caught me off guard and then I just giggled.

I still refuse to join Twitter and am happy to continue refusing! :)

Well, you've probably seen me saying that Twitter is pointless and ephemeral and a bit silly. Plus, I hated how it was suddenly The Next Big Thing. But I figured I should try it out before rejecting it altogether, and I've found that I quite like it. Shock! Yeah, it IS pointless and ephemeral and silly, but I kinda enjoy that. I'm using it in a totally different way than I do with LJ, whereas before I'd worried that it would supplant blogging. And I like that I'm using it to make plans with local friends who I didn't really talk to before.

I'm not trying to be an evangelist. Trust me -- I know exactly how you feel, and probably 90% of the stuff on Twitter is stupid and headache-inducing. You should keep on refusing! I'm just surprised that I'm enjoying it, when I'd been so anti-Twitter before I joined on Sunday. ;)

I guess since I use Facebook to keep up with my RL friends, I can't imagine adding Twitter to the mix too. Reading status updates is enough for me, I don't want to deal with tweets too! And some people's status updates ARE their tweets, so in that case I'd be seeing a bunch of the same stuff, on two different platforms. Facebook alone is already enough of a pointless, ephemeral time suck for me. :) I totally enjoy it, but I spend too much time there and on LJ, and actually I've been trying to cut down a bit on my computerizing and do more offline living of my life ( ... )
