Last summer I downloaded the pilot of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I didn't like it AT ALL. It wasn't bad; it just didn't appeal to me -- and I got even more grumbly when so many people began to rave about it as it aired. (Yeah, I'm irrational that way.) Cameron can crack me up too. ;)

Sarah knows what is going to happen, but Derek has lived through it and there is a difference. To her, it's a possible reality; to him, it IS reality. It's also why she often stops short in her actions, rationalizing that a person can't be punished for an act they have not yet committed. Derek's rational is it's going to happen and they have to be stopped while they are still thinking about how they will act. So, yes, he's capable of murder, but his actions are for the greater good rather than a result of sociopathic tendencies or selfish motivations.

I'm amused by John's weird sorta crush on Cameron. It makes me appreciate the Cylons on BSG and hope that Cameron can develop some kind of personality or independence, although I don't think by SCC canon that that's possible.
