Wow! Those fingerless gloves really were quick and (relatively) easy! I finished the first one tonight. The pattern was apparently designed for smaller hands than mine, but it still turned out quite well. Of course I had to take a photo, plus another of a ball-band dishcloth I made earlier this week. (
Yarn porn. )

I saw that article, along with a few others claiming that a renewal is unlikely. At this point, I'm not going to believe anything until I see an official SciFi press release.

*sigh... Guess I'm going to have to keep crossing my fingers.

Try knitting a selvedge next time -- always knit the first stitch, always slip purlwise the last stitch. That will square up your edges.

One question: I'm working with two strands -- one for the main bands, one for the background, and the pattern has me leaving the SC aside while I work with the MC. Pulling the SC up is what leaves the sloppy edge. Should I use the SC for the selvedge?

Sewn bind-off? Hmm. Will have to remember that. For this BO, I just went with the regular old one, but the pattern called for inserting extra stitches every 6st using cable cast-on. I really don't think it was necessary, because the regular BO would've been just fine, and now the edge is too flared. I might stick with the usual for the other glove. I'm not a perfectionist, so I don't mind if the two gloves don't match exactly. ;)
